Education, Healthcare, and MSME Development: PT TIMAH’s Programs Reached 69,653 Beneficiaries

PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to deliver benefits to communities through the implementation of various social, empowerment, and economic development programs.

Throughout 2025, the Company distributed IDR 35.7 billion through its Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM), Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL), and Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK).

These programs reached 69,653 beneficiaries across the Company’s operational areas, including the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Riau Islands Province, Riau Province, and other regions.

The distribution of these funds reflects the Company’s commitment to improving community welfare while promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Through the PPM Program, PT TIMAH implemented a wide range of initiatives focused on improving the well-being of communities surrounding its operational areas. The program covers education, healthcare, economic development, socio-cultural activities, environmental conservation, infrastructure development, and community institutional strengthening.

Among the initiatives carried out were the Youth Creativity Program (PEPAYA) in Rias Village, which encourages young people to transform recyclable materials into products with economic value, and a corn cultivation program in Badau Village, Belitung Regency, involving local farmer groups in collaboration with the village government and the Agriculture Office.

PT TIMAH also continued the Blue Resilience Initiative Action (BERLIAN) Program on Kundur Island, which focuses on empowering coastal communities to address the impacts of climate change.

In the healthcare sector, PT TIMAH operates the Oto Sihat (Healthy Mobile Clinic) Program, a mobile healthcare service designed to reach communities across its operational areas. Currently, three Oto Sihat units operate in Bangka, Belitung, and the Riau Islands. Throughout 2025, the program was conducted 56 times and served a total of 7,114 beneficiaries.

In the education sector, PT TIMAH continues to implement the Pemali Boarding School (PBS) Program, which has been running since 2000. As of 2025, the program has produced 922 alumni who now work in various professions, including teachers, doctors, lecturers, law enforcement officers, and professionals across multiple sectors.

The Company’s commitment to empowering vulnerable groups is also reflected through the Menjaga Nusantara Program in West Bangka Regency, which includes initiatives in food security, MSME development, entrepreneurship training for people with disabilities, waste management, and women’s empowerment.

In the maritime sector, PT TIMAH continues to strengthen its Fishing Ground and Coral Garden programs as part of its efforts to support the sustainability of coastal ecosystems and improve the livelihoods of fishing communities.

In 2025, PT TIMAH expanded its Fishing Ground Program by deploying hundreds of additional fish aggregating devices (FADs) in several marine areas. Meanwhile, the Coral Garden Program was strengthened through the installation of new coral reef structures in the waters of Putri Island and Tuing Sea.

Through its TJSL Program, the Company also implemented various social and environmental assistance initiatives aimed at improving community welfare. These include support for public facilities and infrastructure, places of worship, education, healthcare, environmental preservation, as well as emergency and disaster response efforts.

Among the programs implemented were the Timah Merik Sembako Program, which benefited 10,366 recipients in 2025; the Qurbani Cattle Program, which distributed 209 sacrificial animals during the year; the Free Homecoming Program, which served 700 participants; and the Social Protection Program for Vulnerable Groups, which provided employment social security coverage to 211 fishermen and vulnerable community members within the Company’s operational areas.

In the economic sector, PT TIMAH continues to strengthen the role of micro and small enterprises through its Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK). This program serves as one of the Company’s key instruments for driving community economic growth through financial support, business mentoring, and capacity-building initiatives for MSMEs.

In 2025, a total of 154 fostered business partners participated in exhibitions and trade fairs, 112 partners received training programs, and 24 partners were provided with production support equipment.

PT TIMAH’s Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the implementation of the PPM, TJSL, and PUMK programs reflects the Company’s commitment to creating shared value for communities and the environment.

“PT TIMAH is not solely focused on its business operations but is also committed to delivering broader benefits to communities through sustainable social and empowerment programs. Throughout 2025, these initiatives reached tens of thousands of beneficiaries across the Company’s operational areas,” he said.

According to Anggi, the Company continuously strives to ensure that its programs deliver tangible impacts and effectively address community needs.

“We hope that the various programs implemented will contribute to improving community welfare, strengthening local economies, enhancing the quality of human resources, and supporting sustainable development in the regions,” he added.

Going forward, PT TIMAH will continue to develop community empowerment programs focused on sustainability, ensuring that the benefits generated are not only felt in the short term but also create lasting positive impacts for both communities and the environment. (*)
