BANGKA BARAT – PT TIMAH Tbk once again demonstrates its concern for the community by providing assistance to support the recovery of Ravael (14), a resident of Tanjung Sub-district, Mentok District, West Bangka Regency, who is currently battling cancer.
Since being diagnosed with cancer, Ravael has had to undergo intensive treatment at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital (RSMH) in Palembang. His treatment includes a series of procedures such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
This condition has also forced him to stop attending school for nearly two years. Now, he continues his education through the Package B program (an alternative education program) so that he can keep learning despite his limitations.
As a form of care, PT TIMAH Tbk has once again provided assistance to ease the burden on Ravael’s family. Similar assistance was previously given in February 2025.
The aid was handed over by Division Head of Processing and Refinery PT TIMAH Tbk, Sofian Simangunsong, to the family, who then delivered it to Ravael in Palembang on Wednesday (October 29, 2025).
Ravael’s mother, Dewi Nur Indah Sari, expressed her deep gratitude for the continued support from PT TIMAH Tbk. Amid the family’s financial difficulties, this assistance means a great deal to them.
“Alhamdulillah, God has made things easier for us and moved PT TIMAH Tbk once again to help our son. This assistance is very meaningful for covering medicines not covered by BPJS (the national health insurance), transportation costs to the hospital, and other needs during his treatment,” said Dewi.
She explained that Ravael still has to undergo long-term treatment for the next five years, and in November 2025, he is scheduled for his fourth surgery.
“Our whole family is very grateful to PT TIMAH Tbk for their concern. May all PT TIMAH Tbk employees always be blessed with good health, ease, and prosperity. We also ask for prayers so that Ravael may be granted healing and a smooth surgery,” Dewi said emotionally.
Meanwhile, Tanjung Village Head, Said Alwi, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s concern for his residents.
“This is the second assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk for Ravael. We are very proud and thankful for the company’s attention to our residents in need. Hopefully, this support will be beneficial for Ravael’s family, and PT TIMAH Tbk will continue to grow and remain a company that cares for the community,” said Said. (*)
