BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk once again demonstrated its concern for public health by providing medical assistance to Dafri Saputra, a resident of the Pemali Complex, Pemali District, Bangka Regency.
This support is a tangible expression of PT Timah Tbk’s commitment to easing the burden of residents who are struggling with health challenges within the company’s operational areas.
Dafri has been diagnosed with diabetes and kidney failure, requiring him to undergo dialysis twice a week. Since early 2025, he has also undergone a series of amputations due to complications from his illness.
This condition has forced his family to struggle to cover the high cost of daily medical treatment, especially as their financial resources are only sufficient for basic needs, often leaving them with no choice but to borrow money for medical expenses.
The visit from PT Timah’s team to Dafri’s home on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) was met with emotion by his wife, Rain Sonata. She shared the long journey her husband has faced, starting from amputations of his fingers, then the sole of his foot, and now preparing for a further, more extensive amputation.
“It started with diabetes, then his finger was injured and had to be amputated. After that, the sole of his foot was amputated, and now he is preparing for a half-leg amputation,” Rain explained.
Rain admitted that she often has to borrow money to buy medicine, wound-cleaning solutions, and bandages for her husband. However, she expressed her gratitude for the care and support from many people, including PT Timah.
“Because my husband needs a lot of medicine and care, sometimes I have to borrow money from others to buy them. But I’m grateful that there are friends who care, and PT Timah has also supported our family,” she said.
According to Rain, the assistance from PT Timah means a great deal for her family. The support will help them purchase medication and pay for hospital expenses.
“I am thankful to PT Timah for caring and providing assistance. For my family, this is very meaningful and helpful. May PT Timah continue to thrive and always be there to support the community,” she said with gratitude.
