PANGKALPINANG -- As a form of care for the community, PT Timah once again distributed medical assistance to residents in the Riau Islands Province to help ease the cost of treatment.
This medical assistance was given to Ahmad, the father of Andi, a resident of Sebele Village, Belat District, Karimun Regency, whose child is currently fighting to recover from bone tumor disease.
Ahmad shared that his son is now undergoing outpatient care at a hospital in Jakarta for regular therapy. The bone tumor his son has suffered for a long time has made it increasingly difficult for them to afford treatment.
“Thank you to PT Timah for helping with the medical costs of my child, who is still in Jakarta for treatment and therapy. This support means a lot, especially since my job is uncertain,” he said.
At first, he did not expect to receive such assistance from PT Timah and expressed deep gratitude for the support. He said the help significantly reduced the burden of treatment and living expenses while his son was in Jakarta.
“My child has been in Jakarta for more than five months for treatment, and the expenses are not small. Once again, thank you to PT Timah for the support,” he added.
PT Timah Tbk’s Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, said that health assistance programs are one of the company’s CSR focuses, alongside education, environment, and community empowerment.
PT Timah has implemented various health programs such as free medical services through its Mobile Clinic, stunting prevention and treatment, and education on healthy lifestyles.
