Easing Medical Expenses for Residents, PT TIMAH Tbk Provides Assistance for Dazya
PANGKALPINANG – PT TIMAH Tbk once again demonstrates its commitment to supporting those in need. Through its Health Sector Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, PT TIMAH Tbk has provided financial assistance for the medical treatment of Dazya Adarah Padela.
The aid was handed over by the PT TIMAH Tbk CSR team to Dazya’s father, Ahmad Afandi (31), on Monday (October 13, 2025). Dazya, a resident of Opas Indah Sub-district in Pangkalpinang City, is currently undergoing intensive treatment at the hospital.
Ahmad Afandi shared that his 10-month-old daughter is still receiving medical care at Depati Bahrin General Hospital in Pangkalpinang due to a worsening health condition.
Since birth, his daughter has had a cleft lip, but her condition deteriorated further when doctors discovered a mucus buildup in her lungs, which has significantly affected her growth and development. At one point, she even had to be admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
"She was born with a cleft lip, and since she was three months old, her condition kept declining, and her weight kept dropping. We recently found out there's mucus buildup in her lungs," he explained.
As a daily laborer, Ahmad Afandi struggles to cover the costs of daily living, let alone medical expenses for his child.
"My daughter has been hospitalized for almost three weeks now and needs a special type of milk to help her gain weight, which is quite expensive. I only work as a day laborer, so it's been really difficult to afford everything," he said.
He expressed his gratitude for the support from PT TIMAH Tbk, which has helped ease the financial burden of his child’s treatment. He also appreciated the support from all parties who have offered help.
"I'm truly grateful—thank you to PT TIMAH for responding quickly and helping us. This assistance will be used for my child's medical needs. I hope she recovers soon and can undergo the cleft lip surgery," he said. (*)
