PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to create opportunities for collaboration with Merah Putih Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives (KDKMP) and mining cooperatives to support the development of local economic potential in the Company's operational areas.
PT TIMAH carried out this initiative through a Partnership Socialization Program with Merah Putih Cooperatives and Mining Cooperatives, attended by KDKMP management representatives from Pangkalpinang and Central Bangka Regency. The event was held at the PT TIMAH Cooperative Development Service Office in Pangkalpinang on Thursday (September 3, 2026).
The socialization provided cooperative managers with a better understanding of partnership opportunities with PT TIMAH, including cooperation mechanisms, requirements, and the preparations cooperatives need to complete before establishing a partnership.
The event was also attended by Head of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province Office of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Arie Primajaya; Head of Institutional Affairs and Supervision at the Bangka Belitung Islands Province Office of Cooperatives and SMEs Sofiar; Head of the Central Bangka Regency Office responsible for Small and Medium Enterprises Irwandi; Head of the Cooperatives and MSMEs Division at the Pangkalpinang City Trade and Cooperatives Office Erni Rindasari; and Head of the CSR Division of PT TIMAH Tbk Rahmat Taufik.

Head of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province Office of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Arie Primajaya, said cooperatives are a strategic means of strengthening the local economy and helping communities become more independent and productive.
"This socialization is a form of assistance for our fellow cooperative members. We hope the cooperative management teams will become increasingly capable of managing the KDKMP. Cooperatives are a strategic government initiative to strengthen the community's economy," Arie said.
He appreciated PT TIMAH's efforts to create opportunities for synergy with Merah Putih Cooperatives. According to him, collaboration between the government, cooperatives, and the business sector is essential to ensure that cooperatives are not only established as organizations but can also grow into productive economic entities.
"I greatly appreciate PT TIMAH's commitment to supporting the development of Merah Putih Cooperatives. Synergy among the government, cooperatives, and the business sector is key to helping cooperatives become better prepared to grow and establish productive partnerships," he said.
According to Arie, human resource capacity is one of the key factors in ensuring the sustainability of cooperatives. Cooperative managers are expected not only to understand administration and management but also to have the ability to develop businesses and market their products.
"I hope the people managing these KDKMP cooperatives have strong capabilities, not only in administration and management but also in marketing," he said.
Meanwhile, Chairwoman of the Puput Village Cooperative in Simpang Katis District, Central Bangka Regency, Willy Ertiana Dewi, welcomed the socialization organized by PT TIMAH.
She said the event provided cooperative managers with a clearer understanding of the opportunities and mechanisms that need to be prepared to establish partnerships with the Company.
"We are happy to have been invited to today's socialization. This event is very beneficial for the development of our village cooperative. Our management team is ready, and the land is also ready. We are now waiting for the next steps and further information regarding the partnership mechanism," Willy said.
According to Willy, a partnership with PT TIMAH has the potential to positively impact village economic development, particularly in villages with mining potential.
"We are very grateful to PT TIMAH for this partnership opportunity. Cooperation like this is good for increasing cooperative and village income, especially because Puput Village has significant tin resources. Hopefully, the partnership between the cooperative and PT TIMAH will run smoothly in the future, God willing," she said.
She also appreciated PT TIMAH's support through socialization and assistance for cooperatives. According to her, understanding legal and administrative requirements is an important part of the preparations cooperatives need to make before starting business activities.
"Thank you to PT TIMAH for always supporting our cooperative. From today's presentation, we also learned that PT TIMAH will provide the KBLI registration free of charge. KBLI is one of the things that needs to be taken care of at the beginning, after which the other processes can follow the established procedures," she said.
Previously, PT TIMAH had also conducted similar socialization activities in other operational areas, including West Bangka Regency. This initiative reflects the Company's commitment to supporting the development of local communities' economies in and around its operational areas. (*)
