KARIMUN -- The mass circumcision carried out by PT Timah Tbk at the Kundur Production Unit, Tuesday (18/7/2023) at Wisma Timah Kundur was lively. As many as 92 children were circumcised in the Month of Service to welcome the 47th anniversary of PT Timah Tbk.
Not only the general public, PT Timah Tbk's mass circumcision was also used by the management of the Tanjung Batu Al Muhajirin Orphanage to participate in circumcising orphans and orphans.
Apart from carrying out mass circumcision, PT Timah Tbk's Service Month also held a blood donor. This annual activity carried out by members of the MIND ID mining industry holding is an agenda that the community has been waiting for.
The caretaker of the Tanjung Batu Al Muhajirin Orphanage, Burhanudin said there were seven children from their orphanage who participated in PT Timah Tbk's mass circumcision. For them, this mass circumcision is very helpful for them.
"This activity is very good and helpful for us caregivers and caretakers of the Al Muhajirin orphans. Some time ago PT Timah Tbk also provided assistance and also activities for children at the Orphanage," he said.
One of the children from the Al Muhajirin Institution, Ryan, said he was very happy to participate in the mass circumcision. He said he already had his own wish for circumcision this year.
"Thank God, finally the wish for this year's circumcision can come true with this activity from PT Timah. Thank you PT Timah Tbk," he said.
In the same vein, Jefri, a resident of the Sawang Village, said that he was very happy with this mass circumcision activity from PT Timah, because it could reduce their costs.
"If we do an independent circumcision, we will pay Rp. 300-500 thousand. Of course, at that cost, it is enough for me, who has an irregular income because I am only a traditional fisherman. Hopefully PT Timah Tbk can continue to do this activity," he said.
One of the participants in the mass circumcision, Fahri Azhar (10) said he was happy to participate in the mass circumcision because he was with other colleagues.
"I'm very happy because apart from being full of friends, we can also get watches and school bags. Go to school later, you can wear new watches and new bags," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the West Kundur Health Center Fakhrul Razi said this activity was very helpful for residents who wanted to circumcise their children but did not have the funds yet. "So that with activities like this, it is good news for the community. Hopefully, this can continue," he said.
The same goes for the Head of West Kundur sub-district, Khaidir, who appreciates PT Timah Tbk's mass circumcision which has helped their residents. According to him, this is a form of concern for the community.
Deputy Head of PT Timah Tbk Metallurgical Unit Kundur Nono Budi Priono said that this activity was a form of gratitude for PT Timah Tbk which will celebrate its 47th anniversary.
"Hopefully by sharing happiness with the community, the company will get an abundance of sustenance from Allah SWT so that it can continue to support development progress in Karimun Regency," he said. (*)
