WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk began distributing sacrificial animals for the 1446 Hijri Eid al-Adha celebration in West Bangka Regency on Wednesday (June 4, 2025). Several mosques and prayer rooms in the area received livestock donations from the company, a member of the Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) holding.
The arrival of the sacrificial animals was met with enthusiasm from the local community, creating a special moment—especially for children who were excited to see the cattle up close.
PT Timah’s Division Head of Processing and Refinery, Sofian Simangunsong, personally led the distribution to mosque leaders, prayer room caretakers, and local Eid committees.
PT Timah Tbk has consistently provided sacrificial animals in its operational areas. This annual program is a form of community harmony and a gesture of sharing joy during Eid al-Adha.
Ramlisa, head of Darul Mutaqin Mosque in Sungai Baru, Mentok, said PT Timah has proven its commitment by taking part in the annual sacrifice alongside the community.
“PT Timah never misses a year. The congregation and residents pray for PT Timah’s continued success and growth,” said Ramlisa.
Similarly, Yang Nurmania, head of RT 04 RW 06 in Teluk Rubiah, Tanjung Village, also expressed appreciation for PT Timah’s consistent contributions.
“Our area is near PT Timah’s operations, and every year our residents receive sacrificial donations. Alhamdulillah, it’s a big help,” she said.
Echoing that sentiment, Sutiyo, chairman of the sacrificial committee at Urwatul Wusqo Mosque in Dusun VII, Belo Laut, Mentok, expressed gratitude for the donated cow from PT Timah. It added to the total number of animals, allowing more people to benefit.
According to Sutiyo, PT Timah is the only company that consistently donates sacrificial animals to the community every year.
“Alhamdulillah, thanks to PT Timah’s donation, the number of sacrificial animals has increased to four. PT Timah always shows concern through these contributions. The meat will be distributed to those in need,” he said.
Ahmad Suhendra, head of Jami Mosque in Mentok, also expressed his appreciation for PT Timah’s support of community activities.
“PT Timah always responds positively to our sacrificial requests. Even for our annual events like Ziarah Kute Seribu, PT Timah has been a constant supporter,” said Ahmad.
Meanwhile, Sulaiman, Head of Air Putih Village, shared that PT Timah was the only company to provide sacrificial animals in his village this year.
“Two cows were delivered to Dusun Kemang Masam and Dusun Selindung. Only PT Timah has contributed to Air Putih for this year’s Eid al-Adha. In addition to sacrificial animals, PT Timah also regularly distributes basic food packages, provides mobile health services, and plans to collaborate on managing the Farm Estate Area in Tanjung Ular with Air Putih Village,” he concluded.
