ACEH TAMIANG – The Emergency Response Group (ERG) team of PT TIMAH Tbk, together with the ESDM Disaster Response Post, has once again provided assistance to communities affected by flooding in Aceh Tamiang.
Various forms of humanitarian aid were distributed to meet residents’ basic needs while supporting the post-disaster recovery process. In addition to providing food assistance and free medical services, the ERG team of PT TIMAH Tbk also delivered other logistical support.
One type of aid distributed was wearable clothing collected through donations from the extended family of PT TIMAH Tbk. The clothing assistance was handed over to flood-affected communities in Aceh Tamiang on Friday (12/12/2025).
The wearable clothing was received directly by village officials and representatives of evacuees, ensuring that the community’s clothing needs could be better fulfilled.
In addition, the ERG team of PT TIMAH also procured and distributed five portable generator sets complete with accessories such as cables, terminals, battery water, and oil. These generators will be distributed to several priority locations in Aceh Tamiang that are still experiencing power outages.
The generator assistance aims to support emergency lighting, charging of communication devices, operation of disaster response posts, and to help meet the needs of residents in areas where electricity has not yet been restored.
Beyond meeting basic needs, ERG PT TIMAH also paid attention to the spiritual needs of the affected communities. The team distributed worship supplies including sarongs, mukena, prayer mats, blankets, and other necessities to help residents continue to perform religious activities comfortably amid emergency conditions.
To support the post-disaster recovery process, ERG PT TIMAH also provided various cleaning tools, including shovels, hoes, brooms, buckets, toilet brushes, dippers, floor brushes, cloths, and other supporting equipment according to on-site needs.
“This assistance is expected to accelerate the process of cleaning mud and debris from residents’ homes and the surrounding environment,” said the Head of ERG PT TIMAH Tbk, Ali Samsuri.
Previously, the ERG team of PT TIMAH Tbk also delivered logistical assistance to communities affected by disasters in North Sumatra and West Sumatra. This assistance is expected to support post-disaster recovery efforts. (*)
