WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk handed medical expenses assistance to Dedi Sugianto who suffered from lymph node cancer. This assistance was delivered directly to his residence in Air Bulin Village, Kelapa District, West Bangka Regency, Friday (4/8/2023).
Dedi Sugianto's wife, Herlin, said her husband had been diagnosed with malignant cancer in 2020. Then in 2021, he was referred to a hospital in Palembang to undergo treatment.
"My husband has undergone various treatments, but has not shown any signs of recovery," she said.
The costs required are not small, but she is grateful that while her husband was undergoing treatment in Palembang, he received help from the community, the government, and PT Timah Tbk.
"As long as the husband is undergoing treatment at the Palembang Hospital, the husband's living needs and treatment are assisted by donations, which come from the community, the Health Service, and Baznas," he said.
According to Herlina, assistance from PT Timah will be used for treatment for her husband at a hospital in Palembang.
"Thank God, PT Timah is also helping. This assistance will be used to resume treatment in Palembang. Kaarena has to return to chemotherapy several times," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Village Secretary of Air Bulin Murni expressed his appreciation to PT Timah Tbk for helping their needy residents.
Apart from this social assistance, he said PT Timah also helped support the TMMD program in their village.
"Representing the community and village government, we would like to thank Dedi Sugianto for the help of our sick residents, besides that, thank you for helping support the TMMD program in Air Bulin village," he said. (*)
