BANGKA -- For Darmadi, a student at SMP Negeri 3 Rangsang, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau, the news about the Pemali Boarding School (PBS) scholarship from PT Timah Tbk was initially just ordinary information shared by his teacher in class. However, little did he know that this information would mark the beginning of a life-changing journey.
Upon returning home, his curiosity drove Darmadi to seek more information. He looked up detailed information about PBS and showed it to his parents. Without hesitation, his family gave him their full support.
With the guidance of his teachers, Darmadi began preparing his application documents, handling administrative matters, and fulfilling the requirements. The selection process was not short. Darmadi had to go through academic tests, psychological tests, and interviews. For him, the most challenging stage was the psychological test, especially when solving math problems.
“The selection process was quite lengthy. The hardest part was the psychological test because it included a math test. Madi really tried his best to complete it well,” he recalled.
The announcement day was an unforgettable moment. When checking the selection results on the official website, he could hardly believe his name was listed as one of the recipients of the PBS scholarship.
“Alhamdulillah, Madi passed all the selections and successfully obtained the Pemali Boarding School scholarship from PT Timah,” he said gratefully.
Now, Darmadi is officially part of PBS, a boarding school known for its comprehensive facilities, intensive training, and education that hones character, discipline, and leadership skills. From the dormitory, he sent a warm message to his family back home.
“To my parents, I hope you are always healthy. Don’t worry, I’m going well here. Thank you for taking care of me from childhood until now. To PT Timah, thank you very much for creating a scholarship program for children like me. I hope PT Timah will become even more successful and prosperous,” he said.
