Demonstrating this spirit, employees of PT Timah and other BUMN companies participated in the Sobat Aksi Ramadan BUMN 2025 program by organizing a communal cleanup at Musala Al Mukhbitin in Mayang Village, Simpang Teritip District, West Bangka Regency, on Friday (March 14, 2025).
Gotong royong (cooperation) is a fundamental value of Indonesian culture that must be preserved to ensure its noble principles continue to thrive amid rapid modernization.
Sobat Aksi Ramadan 2025 serves as an opportunity to spread joy, strengthen social bonds, and highlight the role of BUMN companies as pillars of social development.
This initiative aligns with President Prabowo’s Asta Cita Vision, specifically the eighth mission, which promotes social harmony and religious tolerance.
"This activity helps strengthen ties with the local community while also being an act of devotion," said Kasno Sutanto, Head of Mayang Village.
He emphasized that the event was not just about cleaning the musala but also about revitalizing the spirit of togetherness and fostering closer ties between PT Timah and the residents.
"This is more than just cleaning a mosque; it is about reinforcing unity and brotherhood. I was delighted to see the people and PT Timah employees working side by side," he added.
Kasno further appreciated the Sobat Aksi Ramadan BUMN initiative, noting that it received enthusiastic participation from the community.
"Thank you, PT Timah, for coming to our village. I hope PT Timah continues to grow and succeed in the future," he said.
Juhari, Chairman of Musala Al Mukhbitin, was also pleased with PT Timah’s presence in Mayang Village. The residents and PT Timah employees worked together to clean the mosque, showcasing a strong sense of community.
"PT Timah has shown great care for this musala. In 2022, they supported us in renovating the mosque, which is now in excellent condition and actively used by worshippers. This Ramadan, we have many people attending Tarawih prayers," he shared.
He expressed his gratitude that Musala Al Mukhbitin was chosen as a location for the Sobat Aksi Ramadan BUMN 2025 initiative, highlighting that this effort not only focused on cleanliness but also revived the gotong royong spirit to create a more comfortable place of worship.
"Cleaning the mosque is a reflection of our concern for the sanctity of our place of worship, ensuring that worshippers can pray in a clean and peaceful environment," he said.
Residents enthusiastically participated in cleaning the musala’s courtyard, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, wiping windows, and sanitizing the ablution area, water basins, faucets, and bathrooms to maintain hygiene for worshippers.
The mosque cleaning activity concluded with a communal iftar (breaking of the fast) and Maghrib prayer. (**)
