Conveying the Sustainable Environmental Management Program, PT Timah Participates in the 13th Indonesia Green Forestry Environment Expo

YOGYAKARTA -- PT Timah Tbk participated in the 13th Indonesia Green Forestry Environment Expo exhibition organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Special Region Government.

The Indonesia Green Forestry Environment Expo 2023 was held on March 2-5 2023 at the Jogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta Special Province (DIY). It was attended by dozens of institutions and agencies that are committed to controlling the environmental crisis that is currently happening globally.

In this exhibition, PT Timah Tbk presents environmental management programs carried out by the company together with other members of the MIND ID Group, such as PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Inalum (Persero), and PT Freeport Indonesia.

PT Timah Tbk is a tin mining company that represents the state and continues to be committed to carrying out sustainable management, including mitigating climate change.

At the end of last December, PT Timah Tbk was awarded two Gold Proper from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in the 2022 Company Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management (PROPER).

This TINS-coded issuer received this award because it plays an active role in maintaining a green environment in its operational area through massive and sustainable planting of mangroves.

Indonesia's forest area, which has an area of ??120 million hectares, is the focus of the global community's hopes to absorb carbon emissions. This was stated by the Director General of Sustainable Forest Management of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Agus Justianto at the opening of the Indonesia Green Forestry Environment Expo 2023 with the theme "Successful Indonesia's Folu Net Sink 2030 Through the Synergy of the Forestry Sector and the Industrial Sector".

"Through this exhibition, we are showing examples of action at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, as well as showing the global community that we (KLHK) are committed to protecting the environment and forestry to anticipate increasingly extreme climate change," said Agus.

Agus added since 2020 Indonesia has succeeded in reducing deforestation rates to the lowest point in Indonesia's history, reaching 116 thousand hectares, and continues to decline until now.

Apart from opening this activity, the Director General of Sustainable Forest Management of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Agus Justianto, also stopped by PT Timah Tbk's booth with MIND ID Group to listen to an explanation about environmental management carried out by the MIND ID Group.

The 13th Indonesia Green Forestry Environment Expo is an exhibition venue for various forest products in the form of wood and non-timber originating from sustainable forest management practices, and efforts to protect biodiversity and ecosystems.
