Continuing to Improve, These Are PT TIMAH’s Concrete Steps in Strengthening Corporate Governance

PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to improving tin mining governance to be more transparent, orderly, and sustainable. These governance improvements are not only carried out internally within the company but also involve stakeholders across the company’s business chain.

One of the concrete steps taken by the company to improve governance is by socializing the governance improvement plans to its business partners, particularly Mining Service Companies (PJP).

The governance and cooperation system improvement socialization was attended by PT Timah’s Director of Operations, Handy Geniardi, and Director of Production and Commercial, Ilhamsyah Mahendra. The event was held at Graha Timah on Thursday (March 5, 2026).

The activity was also attended by several business partners who have been involved in mining activities with the company.

PT Timah Director of Operations Handy Geniardi explained that the company is currently implementing various improvements in the mining cooperation system to create better governance and provide certainty for all parties involved.

In addition, these governance improvements are a follow-up by the company to recommendations provided by law enforcement authorities and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

According to him, there are seven main points of change in the cooperation system that will be implemented by PT TIMAH together with its business partners.

These seven points include changing the cooperation scheme from a partnership program to Mining Service Companies (PJP), regulating the process of community involvement in mining activities, processing or washing tin ore at the Collection Station (STP), transportation patterns for ore shipment, the service payment system for tin ore results, cooperation with cooperatives to support activities, and strengthening the role of mining conducted directly by PT TIMAH.

“The purpose of this socialization is to explain the governance improvement steps that we will implement at PT TIMAH so that all parties have the same understanding,” said Handy.

He added that these governance improvements are expected to create a more orderly and transparent working system while supporting the sustainability of tin mining activities in the company’s operational areas.

Meanwhile, PT Timah Director of Production and Commercial Ilhamsyah Mahendra emphasized the importance of compliance with regulations and administrative requirements for business partners cooperating with the company.

According to him, these governance improvements require a shared commitment from all business partners so that mining activities can run in accordance with the regulations.

“These seven initiatives are being carried out together to improve mining governance and administrative aspects. With good governance, we can all conduct business activities more calmly, orderly, and in a mutually beneficial manner,” he said.

PT TIMAH’s governance improvement efforts are implemented comprehensively across all of the company’s business processes. On the same day, PT TIMAH Director of Human Resources Ratih Mayasari provided motivation about the company’s transformation for PT TIMAH employees.

In the Bincang Transformasi program, Ratih reminded employees to remain agile, prioritize safety aspects, and maintain their motivation.

“Transformation is a necessity to achieve improvement. Transformation is reflected through business growth and strong fundamentals. The company is currently undergoing transformation, and this needs to be supported by all parties,” she said.

Some time ago, PT TIMAH Tbk held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Mining Governance and Partnerships along with Technical Guidance (Bimtek) as a strategic step to improve corporate governance.

The event featured speakers including Narendra Jatna from the Civil and State Administrative Division of the Attorney General’s Office (Jamdatun), Deputy for Strategic Studies of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) Major General TNI Rudi Purnomo, Director of Mineral Business Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Cecep Mochamad Yasin, Coordinator at the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office Zulkifli, and Head of the South Bangka District Prosecutor’s Office Sarbinin Usman.

PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has also strengthened its synergy with law enforcement authorities and regulators to ensure that all business activities are carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

PT TIMAH President Director Restu Widiyantoro and Narendra Jatna, Deputy Attorney General for Civil and State Administrative Affairs at the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, signed a cooperation agreement regarding the handling of civil and state administrative legal matters.

This cooperation is part of the company’s transformation efforts to improve tin governance that is better, more accountable, and aligned with the principles of legal compliance in every operational activity. (*)
