Consistently Supporting Education, PT TIMAH Tbk Assists Student Learning and Creativity Activities in West Bangka

WEST BANGKA -- As part of its commitment to supporting education, PT TIMAH Tbk has provided support for activities held at SMK Muhammadiyah Mentok and Santa Maria School in West Bangka Regency.

The assistance was handed over by PT TIMAH Tbk’s Division Head of Processing and Refinery, Sofian Simangunsong, to school representative Muhamad Riski, a teacher at SMK Muhammadiyah Mentok, at PT Timah’s CSR Office in Mentok on Wednesday (October 29, 2025).

Muhamad Riski explained that their school will conduct outdoor learning or a benchmarking study. The activity aims to give students hands-on learning experiences in real industry settings so they can understand practical work according to their respective study programs.

“The Hospitality Department will visit the hospitality industry, while the Automotive Engineering Department will visit the Faculty of Engineering at Bangka Belitung University. In addition, we plan to establish partnerships with Swiss-Belhotel and the Faculty of Engineering at UBB,” said Riski.

He expressed his appreciation and gratitude to PT TIMAH Tbk for their attention and support.

“The assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk is very beneficial for us. We hope the synergy and collaboration between PT TIMAH Tbk and SMK Muhammadiyah Mentok will continue,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMK Muhammadiyah Mentok, Aldo Fitra Yuda Saputra, also expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s consistent contributions to the community, especially in education.

“PT TIMAH Tbk is a state-owned enterprise that has long been part of the Mentok community. As someone whose parent once worked for the company, I have personally witnessed how PT TIMAH Tbk has always been present and supportive, particularly in the field of education,” he said.

Aldo added that even though SMK Muhammadiyah Mentok is not a public school, PT TIMAH Tbk continues to show its concern and support.

“We are very grateful. This assistance will be used in the best possible way to support our students’ learning activities,” he concluded.

On the same occasion, PT TIMAH also provided educational assistance to the Santa Maria Foundation, which was received by event committee member Riko Zulkarnaen.

The “Berkarya” (Creating) event was held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Santa Maria School. The celebration featured various student talents from kindergarten, elementary, and junior high levels through theater performances, music, dance, and exhibitions of students’ artwork and handicrafts.

Riko stated that PT TIMAH Tbk had previously provided similar support to the Santa Maria Foundation.

“On behalf of the foundation, teachers, students, and parents, we extend our deepest gratitude to PT TIMAH Tbk for its continued support and attention to education. We wish PT TIMAH Tbk continued success and hope the company will keep bringing benefits to the community,” he concluded.
