KEPULAUAN MERANTI — The sound of boat engines echoed across the sea as the team from PT TIMAH transported sacrificial animals through the waters toward islands in the Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province, on Sunday (24/5/2026).
After hours of travel, the PT TIMAH team brought the joy of Eid al-Adha to coastal and island communities, who also benefited from the sacrificial animal assistance program.
The distribution of sacrificial animals forms part of PT TIMAH’s social commitment to sharing happiness with communities in the company’s operational areas, including island regions with limited transportation access that can only be reached by sea routes.
Using sea transportation, the PT TIMAH team directly delivered sacrificial animals to several areas such as Topang Village, Sungai Gayung Kiri Village, Tanjung Bakau Village, Dwi Tunggal Village, Tanjung Medang Village, Tanjung Samak Village, and Panyagon Kiri Village so residents could celebrate Eid al-Adha with joy and togetherness.
Regent of Meranti Islands Regency, H. Asmar, expressed appreciation for PT TIMAH’s concern in once again distributing sacrificial animal assistance to communities in the region.
“On behalf of the Meranti Islands Regency Government, we would like to thank PT TIMAH for providing assistance of 13 sacrificial cows placed in the Rangsang area,” he said.
He considered the sacrificial animal assistance highly meaningful for the community, especially residents in island regions.
“We hope PT TIMAH becomes even more successful, that the company’s operations continue to grow, and that it can keep contributing to the region, including through revenue-sharing funds that benefit the people of the Meranti Islands,” he added.
According to him, PT TIMAH’s consistency in implementing social programs and sharing with communities serves as clear evidence of the company’s concern for residents in its operational areas.
Head of Social Welfare Affairs of the Rangsang District Government, Yurlida Ningsih, also appreciated PT TIMAH’s consistency in once again providing sacrificial animal assistance for the community.
“We are grateful and thankful for PT TIMAH’s concern in consistently sharing with the community through the sacrificial animal assistance program during Eid al-Adha. Alhamdulillah, the community is very happy and enthusiastic about this assistance. As far as we know, this routine assistance has consistently come from PT TIMAH every year,” she said.
She explained that the benefits of PT TIMAH’s sacrificial animal assistance have reached villages and communities in remote island areas. The distribution is also rotated annually so that the benefits can be felt more widely by the community.
“Alhamdulillah, this assistance is truly felt by communities all the way to the remote villages. Each year, the distribution rotates so that more people can experience the benefits,” she said.
According to her, the collaboration between PT TIMAH, the community, and various stakeholders has brought positive impacts to residents in Rangsang District.
“We are grateful that PT TIMAH remains close to the community. Hopefully in the future there will not only be sacrificial animal assistance, but also other programs that can support development and help the community,” she hoped.
She also expressed hope that PT TIMAH will continue implementing sustainable social programs so that the benefits can increasingly be felt by communities in the company’s operational areas.
