PT Timah Tbk's commitment to handling stunting was rewarded with an award from the Association of Community Social Workers (IPSM) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province as one of the companies that have played a role in handling stunting and poverty alleviation in Babel.
This award for PT Timah Tbk was given simultaneously during the inauguration of the Bangka Belitung Province IPSM board, at the Tanjung Kelayang Beach Hall, Keciput Village, Sijuk District, Belitung Regency on Thursday 10 August.
The general chairman of IPSM Bangka Belitung, Doddy Dirnadi, assessed that MIND ID mining industry holding members play an active role in tackling stunting and poverty in Babel.
"The Community Social Work Association gives awards to the business world which actively participates in handling stunting, in this case PT Timah is also an integral part in supporting this activity," said Doddy Dirnadi.
In this activity, they also provided 110 additional food packages for stunted children which were the result of IPSM's collaboration with the community and the business world.
In the future, they hope that the business world, in terms of corporations, can get involved and assist in handling stunting and alleviating extreme poverty. Currently, he said there are 408 PSM members who are ready to collaborate in handling stunting.
"We hope that PT Timah can collaborate with us in helping the government and society deal with social problems. Especially handling stunting and also alleviating extreme poverty in Babylon," he said.
He added that the role and support of the community is one of the keys to success in combating stunting.
"To all Bangka Belitung residents, we hope that we can jointly assist the government and the community in dealing with this social problem. This includes handling stunting," he emphasized. (*)
