BANGKA BARAT — To foster a culture of innovation and enhance creativity among employees, PT Timah Tbk holds various innovation events to facilitate fresh ideas and practical solutions that can be implemented in the company’s operations.
Among these innovation events are the Tins Hackathon and the Metallurgy Innovation Award (MIA). These programs are designed to harness employee potential, promote a spirit of innovation, and provide a platform for employees to contribute to the company’s progress.
During the 2024 Mining Day celebration, four PT Timah employees received the Dharma Karya Madya Award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) for innovations they proposed and implemented at PT Timah.
These innovation events are open to all divisions, allowing every employee to submit ideas relevant to their work areas, whether in production, operational efficiency, the environment, or other fields.
On the occasion of the 96th Youth Pledge Day, PT Timah’s Director of Finance, Fina Eliani, presented awards to the winners of the 2024 Metallurgy Innovation Award, organized by the Processing and Refinery Division at Wisma Majapahit PT Timah, Bangka Barat, on Monday (October 28, 2024).

Through this innovation event, it is expected that all employees feel they have the opportunity to contribute to the company’s progress, as every idea, no matter how small, has the potential to bring positive change.
Candra Rivaldi, the leader of the GMP One team and one of the winners of the 2024 MIA Award, expressed joy in winning. He mentioned that the innovation event encourages them to think more creatively in their work.
“I’m happy to win first place in the Supporting Implementation category. I hope this can motivate colleagues in the Processing and Refinery Division to think creatively and apply even small ideas in writing. This has been part of our implementation at GMP,” said Candra.
Similarly, Anwar, the leader of the ER Team, who won second place in the Supporting Implementation category, encouraged his colleagues not to hesitate in innovating, as it brings benefits both personally and for the company.
“Alhamdulillah, our ER Team was trusted to be in the top three in the 2024 MIA. We are still learning how to write and implement innovations. To all colleagues, don’t hesitate to participate in this event, as it is very beneficial,” he said.
Through these innovation events, PT Timah aims to create a work environment that supports creativity and collaboration, while strengthening the company’s position as an innovation pioneer in the tin mining industry. (*)
