JAKARTA -- PT Timah Tbk won an award for its commitment to utilizing Clean Energy at the 2023 National Energy Council (DEN) Awards held at the Birawa Assembly Hall, Bidakara, Jakarta, Friday (20/10/2023).
This award was handed over by the Secretary General of the National Energy Council (DEN) Joko Siswanto and the Managing Director of Indonesian Electricity Magazine Irwadhi Marzuki to the Corporate Secretary of PT Timah Tbk Abdullah Umar.
This member of the MIND ID PT Timah Tbk Mining Industry holding won an award in the commitment category in utilizing Clean Energy.
This award is part of a series of Energy Transitions Conference and Exhibition 2023 activities with the theme 'collaboration to achieve the energy transitions to net zero emissions 2060' which will be held from 18-20 October 2023 in Jakarta.
DEN member Herman Darnel Ibrahim said this DEN Award is an appreciation for Regional Governments, Companies, and figures who have encouraged and realized decarbonization and energy transition.
"This award is given to companies that have shown commitment to creating and implementing programs and have successfully implemented decarbonization," he said.
He said that the company category assessment was carried out in collaboration with Indonesian Electricity Magazine in several stages such as observation, commitment, program, action and realization and utilization of new and renewable energy in the company environment.
Meanwhile, PT Timah Tbk Corporate Secretary, Abdullah Umar said PT Timah Tbk is very committed to implementing sustainable environmental programs including decarbonization.
"The company is committed to carrying out environmentally friendly mining and of course, this is in line with the company's concrete steps to carry out programs that support carbonization and clean energy," he said.
He said, that PT Timah Tbk in its business processes implements the principles of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) which are implemented, including in the environmental social responsibility program.
Apart from that, PT Timah Tbk also introduced tin products and downstream forms at the Energy Transition Conference and Exhibition 2023 and Anugerah DEN 2023 which were held by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources together with the National Energy Council (DEN) in Jakarta.
On this occasion, PT Timah Tbk introduced tin products such as tin blocks and downstream products carried out by PT Timah Tbk's subsidiary, namely PT Timah Industri, such as tin chemicals and soldering tins. (*)
