JAKARTA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has once again achieved a proud milestone in environmental management by winning the PROPER Gold and Green awards in the 2024–2025 PROPER evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Environment / Environmental Control Agency.
The PROPER Gold award was granted to PT TIMAH’s Division Processing & Refinery Mentok and was presented by the Minister of Environment / Head of the Environmental Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, to PT TIMAH’s Deputy President Director, Harry Budi Sidharta, on Tuesday (April 7, 2026).
The PROPER award (Company Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management) is an appreciation from the Ministry of Environment / Environmental Control Agency to companies that are considered successful in implementing sustainable environmental management and generating positive impacts for the community.
In addition to receiving the PROPER Gold award, PT TIMAH also earned PROPER Green ratings for its Division Processing & Refinery Kundur and Division Engineering Operation Excellence (Balai Karya).

Minister of Environment / Head of the Environmental Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, stated that the government, through the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Control Agency, reaffirms its commitment to strengthening supervision and law enforcement in the environmental sector.
Furthermore, the government emphasized that PROPER is not merely a corporate performance assessment, but also an important instrument in strengthening national environmental resilience. The participating companies are considered to have a strategic role in maintaining environmental sustainability in Indonesia.
In line with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto, the government has established the Environmental Control Agency through Presidential Regulation No. 183 of 2024. This policy strengthens the role of the central government in supervising, controlling, and enforcing environmental regulations.
In 2026, the implementation of PROPER will undergo significant transformation. The evaluation will not only focus on ratings but will also become part of a comprehensive monitoring system for corporate environmental compliance.
On the same occasion, the Minister expressed appreciation to companies that received PROPER ratings, including blue, green, and gold. These ratings reflect compliance and the real contributions of the business sector in protecting the environment.
However, the government reminded that these achievements must be maintained and continuously improved. PROPER is not merely a symbol, but a representation of a genuine commitment to safeguarding environmental sovereignty.
“We hope companies can maintain and even improve their performance. Once again, this is not about symbols, but about our environmental sovereignty. We must not waste the trust given through this evaluation by the Ministry of Environment,” he said.
Meanwhile, PT TIMAH’s Deputy President Director, Harry Budi Sidharta, stated that the PROPER award serves as motivation for the company to continuously improve its environmental performance while strengthening sustainable mining practices.
“PT TIMAH is committed to consistently conducting its operations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including environmental management and community empowerment in its operational areas,” said Harry.
He added that PT TIMAH continues to strengthen its environmental management efforts through various initiatives, such as eco-innovation in business processes and social innovation through programs that integrate environmental aspects.
“PT TIMAH will continue to strengthen collaboration with the government, communities, and stakeholders to support a balance between business activities and environmental sustainability. Compliance with environmental aspects is not only an obligation but also a collective effort to support sustainable business and community welfare,” he concluded.
