Commitment to Implementing Sustainable Business Processes, PT Timah Tbk Achieves Gold Rank in ASRRAT 2023

JAKARTA -- PT Timah Tbk won the Gold Rank award in the 2023 Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) held by the National Center for Sustainability Reporting (NCSR) at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta, Monday (6/11/2023).

ASRRAT is an award given to companies that successfully communicate sustainability performance through good sustainability reports to stakeholders.

This award is an appreciation of the company's commitment to sustainability reporting. This year ASRRAT carries the theme Navigating the Path to Net Zero: Accelerating Climate Action In Asia. Net Zero Emissions (NZE) to encourage clean emissions in the business world.

The ASRRAT Award is an event for assessing the quality of sustainability reports based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. The assessment is carried out by competent assessors (certified SR specialists).

NCCR Chairman, Dr. Ali Darwin appreciated the ASRRAT 2023 participants for the dedication of companies and organizations to transparency and their initiatives to measure and mitigate environmental and social impact risks.

"The sustainability report has provided valuable insight into the progress that has been made in reducing emissions, conserving resources, and advancing social justice. It also serves as a road map for other businesses and organizations to follow," he said.

Likewise, the Chair of the 2023 ASRRAT Jury Prof. Irwan Adi Ekaputra said that ASRRAT 2023 experienced a significant increase in the number of participants compared to the previous year's implementation. ASRRAT 2023 also saw participants from several countries such as Bangladesh, the Philippines, Australia, and Russia.

He said that the ASRRAT 2023 assessment process involved a panel consisting of five judges and a team of assessors consisting of 18 CSRS-certified assessors from all over Indonesia. NCCR determines four sustainability report ratings, namely Platinum (highest), Gold, Silver, and Bronze (lowest).

Meanwhile, the Corporate Secretary of PT Timah Tbk, Abdullah Umar, said that this award was one of PT Timah Tbk's commitments to implementing sustainable business efforts.

"In carrying out its business processes, PT Timah Tbk implements a sustainability system starting from natural resource exploration to downstream efforts. In the process PT Timah Tbk also involves the community as a form of community empowerment," he said.
