JAKARTA -- PT Timah Tbk (TINS) continues to strive to improve the quality of the company through implementing sustainable principles of Good Corporate Governance.
Due to this commitment, PT Timah Tbk won an award at the 14th IICD Corporate Governance Conference and Award event held by the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD).
PT Timah Tbk won the Top 50 Middle Capitalization Public Listed Company (Mid Cap PCLS) award with the best corporate governance practices in the CG Best Overall category. This award was received directly by the Corporate Secretary of PT Timah Tbk, Abdullah Umar at Graha CIMB Niaga, Jakarta, Monday (18/9/2023).
Carrying the theme "Improving Quality Reporting To Encourage Stakeholders Engagement", IICD gives awards to issuers who have implemented good corporate governance (GCG) practices in the previous year and are not involved in serious cases that conflict with GCG principles.
IICD Chair Sigit Pramono said that GCG transformation in Indonesia needs a long journey. With appreciation like this, he said, it is a forum for mutually measuring the GCG implementation of issuers.
"Ethical behavior is the main thing. The important things include ethics, transparency, accountability, and sustainability," said Sigit.
IICD CG Expert who is also the Assessment Team Leader, James Simanjuntak, gave a presentation on the assessment results of 200 issuers, as well as several recommendations that issuers should carry out.
The determination of issuers who receive the award is based on an assessment carried out by IICD of 200 issuers with the largest market capitalization listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange using the ASEAN CG Scorecard method, which is divided into 100 BigCap issuers and 100 MidCap issuers, and supported by six competent and experienced assessors in the ASEAN CG Scorecard.
