JAKARTA -- PT Timah Tbk won the Katadata ESG Index Award 2024 Mining Category given by Katadata in an activity entitled Sustainability Action for The Future Economy (SAFE) 2024.
This award is a recognition of PT Timah's commitment to implementing sustainable and responsible business practices in the fields of environment, social, and corporate governance.
This award was received by the Head of Government Relations of PT Timah I Putu Asre Ardhana at the Kempinski Grand Ballroom, Jakarta, on Wednesday (7/8/2024) evening.
Katadata CEO Metta Dharmasaputra said this award was an appreciation of the Katadata Insights Center, one of the research institutions in the Katadata Group, for eight company sectors.
The eight sectors that received this award include finance, plantations, energy, mining, transportation and logistics, the chemical industry, the food and beverage industry, and the hospitality industry.

This award is also a form of appreciation for what companies and individuals have done in the environmental, social and governance fields.
Meanwhile, Director of Katadata Insight Center, Adek Media Roza said, Katadata assesses ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) aspects, which include sub-aspects of environmental cost reporting, environmentally friendly materials, energy, biodiversity, emissions, waste and effluent. .
Furthermore, other aspects that are assessed are environmental complaints, water, financing (specifically in the finance sector), employment and society, governance in the form of certification, and diversity of the board of directors.
