Commitment to Enhancing OHS Performance, PT Timah Holds Various Activities to Commemorate National OHS Month 2025

PANGKALPINANG – PT Timah remains committed to improving mining safety performance as part of its corporate operations. In celebration of National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month 2025, the company has organized a series of activities aimed at reinforcing its safety culture.

The National OHS Month 2025 was observed across all operational areas, starting with a joint safety assembly led by PT Timah Tbk’s Director of Operations and Production, Nur Adi Kuncoro.

The month-long events were designed to raise awareness about the importance of OHS culture in the workplace. This year’s theme, "Strengthening Human Resource Capacity to Support the Implementation of the Mining Safety Management System for Increased Productivity," reflects the company's commitment to fostering a safe, healthy, and productive work environment.

The activities conducted by PT Timah during National OHS Month included: Safety assemblies across all operational areas, Health seminars, Emergency response training, Mining safety workshops, OHS poster competitions, and Signing of the safety Golden Rules commitment

Beyond workplace-focused initiatives, PT Timah also engaged in community-driven activities, such as tree planting, distribution of necessities, and free medical services through the Mobile Health Unit.

The National OHS Month celebrations at PT Timah extended beyond its internal environment, actively involving business partners and key stakeholders.

The culmination of National OHS Month 2025 featured the PJO Summit and a Mining Safety Technical Guidance session, held in a hybrid format from Graha Timah Pangkalpinang on Wednesday (February 12, 2025).

Dwinanto Herlambang, Coordinator of Mining Safety at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), commended PT Timah Tbk for organizing a meaningful National OHS Month program.

He emphasized that this event serves as an opportunity to reflect on and accelerate the implementation of a sustainable safety culture.

"National OHS Month serves as a platform to raise awareness and shape a strong OHS culture. The government has established mining safety governance standards as part of best mining practices," he stated during the PJO Summit and Mining Safety Technical Guidance session on Wednesday (February 12, 2025).

In his remarks, Dwinanto highlighted PT Timah’s OHS performance, encouraging the company to enhance its safety initiatives to prevent and mitigate workplace accidents.

"This initiative is not just ceremonial; it is a collective effort to improve safety performance. We urge all stakeholders to collaborate and contribute within their respective roles to strengthen OHS," he added.

Meanwhile, PT Timah's Director of Operations and Production, Nur Adi Kuncoro, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to enhancing awareness and compliance with the corporate OHS culture.

He noted that this year’s theme aligns with President Prabowo’s 'Asta Cita' vision, which aims to establish a sovereign, advanced, and prosperous Indonesia by developing a superior and productive workforce.

He further emphasized that this year’s National OHS Month theme holds deeper significance, as President Prabowo's vision also highlights the importance of worker welfare as a key pillar in achieving national economic sovereignty.

"The Minister of Manpower has expressed hope that this year’s National OHS Month will be more meaningful for all stakeholders, encouraging greater synergy in prioritizing OHS at work," concluded Nur Adi Kuncoro. (*)
