JAKARTA – PT Timah's commitment to strengthening the national industry through its downstreaming strategy has once again gained recognition. At the Energy & Mining Forum (EMF) 2025, PT Timah won the award in the Downstreaming Initiative category.
The award was presented directly by Chief Group Officer of B Universe, Surya Hadiwinata, to PT Timah Tbk’s Department Head of Government Relations, I Putu Asre Ardhana, during the EMF 2025 event held at Hutan Kota by Plataran, Jakarta, on Thursday (July 31, 2025).
The Energy and Mineral Festival (EMF) 2025, themed Energy Self-Sufficiency: Indonesia’s Future, was organized by Investor Daily, a part of B-Universe, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
This award serves as an appreciation for industry players and local governments (pemda) deemed active in promoting the transformation of the energy and mineral sector toward a greener, more inclusive, and sustainable future. A total of 21 companies received awards across five initiative categories: downstreaming, energy transformation, ESG initiatives, initiatives supporting the energy and mineral industry, and local empowerment initiatives.
The recognition not only highlights corporate achievements in downstreaming and energy transition but also honors those supporting the strengthening of the national energy and mineral ecosystem, including through technological innovation, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) advancement, as well as local community empowerment.
PT Timah’s Corporate Secretary, Rendi Kurniawan, stated that PT Timah, through its subsidiary PT Timah Industri, has been implementing tin downstreaming. The downstream products include tin solder, tin chemicals, and tin powder, which are used in various industries such as electronics, automotive, and construction.
“This award is proof that PT Timah’s downstreaming initiatives align with national policy directions. It is not only a source of pride but also a motivation for us to continue innovating and making the best contributions to the nation,” said Rendi.
Rendi further explained that PT Timah has rolled out a series of strategic steps to support mineral downstreaming, including developing a pilot project for rare earth metals and forging partnerships with both national and international industry players.
“These downstreaming measures also support the government’s agenda to reduce dependence on raw material exports and strengthen the resilience of the national industry based on natural resources,” he added.
The EMF 2025 event was attended by hundreds of companies and institutions from the energy, mining, and supporting industries, with various award categories presented as a form of appreciation for achievements and positive contributions in their respective sectors. (*)
