Commemorating Youth Pledge Day 2024, PT Timah Holds Ceremony and Facilitates Pangkalpinang City Government in Conducting Ceremony at Griya Timah

PANGKALPINANG – To mark the 96th Youth Pledge Day, PT Timah held a ceremony at PT Timah’s Ceremony Ground on Monday, October 28, 2024.

The ceremony was attended by management and employees, carrying the 2024 Youth Pledge Day theme, "Advance Together with Indonesia Raya." The event reflects PT Timah’s respect for the struggle and spirit of Indonesian youth in nation-building.

During the ceremony, PT Timah’s President Director, Ahmad Dani Virsal, served as the ceremony inspector. This commemoration of Youth Pledge Day not only honors the nationalist spirit ignited by youth in 1928 but also aims to revive the passion of today's youth to advance Indonesia.

PT Timah’s Corporate Communication Department Head, Anggi Siahaan, noted that PT Timah consistently collaborates with various youth organizations within its operational areas.

Among PT Timah’s youth empowerment initiatives under its social and environmental responsibility programs are collaborations with the Pepaya Group (Youth Creators) in South Bangka to recycle waste materials, and with the Pemuda Harapan Group in West Bangka to conduct agroforestry activities on former mining land.

PT Timah also hosts various programs involving youth communities in the company’s operational areas. By fostering youth empowerment, PT Timah seeks to instill entrepreneurship, leadership, and active youth participation across multiple fields.

"The company is continuously committed to supporting the younger generation through various development and empowerment programs," Anggi said.

On the occasion of the 96th Youth Pledge Day, PT Timah also facilitated the Pangkalpinang City Government and DPD KNPI Pangkalpinang to hold a Youth Pledge Day ceremony at the Griya Timah courtyard.

Griya Timah is known as a historic building, where the youth movements Indonesian Youth Force (API) and Indonesian People's Movement (GRI) were founded on Bangka Island. (*)
