PANGKALPINANG -- To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence, PT Timah Tbk held a flag-raising ceremony at the company’s headquarters in Pangkalpinang on Sunday (August 17, 2025).
In addition to the headquarters, ceremonies were also held at the company’s operational areas, including the tin smelting plant at PT Timah’s Processing and Refinery Division in Mentok, West Bangka Regency.
PT Timah’s President Director, Restu Widiyantoro, served as the Inspector of the Ceremony at the headquarters, which was attended by PT Timah Tbk employees. Wearing formal attire and carrying the spirit of Merah Putih, participants followed the entire ceremony with discipline and respect.
The ceremony reflected PT Timah’s commitment to instilling the values of nationalism and patriotism in all its employees.
President Director of PT Timah Tbk, Restu Widiyantoro, stated that the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence is an important reminder for all members of PT Timah to continue making real contributions to the nation.
On this occasion, he encouraged employees to share the same goals of strengthening security within the company’s Mining Business License (IUP) areas, improving production performance, and continuously building harmony with the community.
“Tin is a strategic natural resource. Therefore, PT Timah not only plays a role in the national economy but also upholds the values of struggle, hard work, and unity. In this momentum, let us reaffirm our commitment to continuously provide benefits for society and the nation,” he said.
The 80th Independence Day commemoration also serves as a reflection for PT Timah to continue strengthening togetherness, enhancing performance, and ensuring business sustainability in support of realizing Indonesia Emas 2045.
“In line with the theme of PT Timah’s 49th Anniversary, For Merah Putih, let us unite our spirit, goals, daily work, dedication, and achievements toward one ultimate purpose: For Merah Putih,” he concluded.
