PANGKALPINANG – The independence of the Republic of Indonesia cannot be separated from the role of veterans who have succeeded in liberating Indonesia. For this reason, to commemorate the 76th anniversary of Indonesia's Independence, PT Timah Tbk provided affection for 60 veterans and widows of veterans spread across the company's operational areas, Tuesday (17/8/2021).
This compassion is a form of PT Timah Tbk's attention and appreciation to the veterans who have put their energy and thoughts into Indonesia's Independence. Tali asih in the form of food packages, money and also parcels is a form of appreciation for veterans.
There are nine veterans and widows who received support from PT Timah Tbk in Pangkalpinang City, two in Bangka Regency, one in Central Bangka Regency, two in South Bangka, one in West Bangka Regency, two in Belitung Regency, and two in East Belitung Regency. as many as 22 people and in Kundur as many as 21 people.
The handing over of compassion to veterans and widows of veterans was held simultaneously with the commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia which was held virtually by PT Timah Tbk and continued to apply health protocols, Tuesday (17/8/2021).
Commemorating the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Timah Tbk held the raising of the Red and White Flag in its Operational Areas including at the Head Office of PT Timah Tbk in Pangkalpinang, PT Tanjung Alam Jaya in Kalimantan, PT DAK in East Lombok, PT Timah Investasi Mineral in Kabaena, Unit The Bangka Sea Mining carried out the raising of the Red and White Flag on the Dredger and Kundur Region.
One of the veterans who received an ASJH rope from PT Timah Tbk, namely Moh Sofan Effendi, a man born in Ngawi on July 25, 1939, participated in the West Irian release, the sad raising of the Red and White Flag on the television screen.
"I'm concerned, this nation is getting more and more disruptive, it doesn't end," he said on the sidelines of receiving a love letter from PT Timah Tbk, Tuesday (17/8/2021).
His physique had been taken before, but his enthusiasm for Indonesia was extinguished. At the age of 81, he asked the younger generation to continue the struggle.
“Alhamdulillah, its nice to invite PT Timah here. I used to make PT Timah Tbk also around 1960," he said haltingly.
In addition to Moh Sofan Effendi, another veteran who received the symbol of compassion is Moch. Wikis from Selinsing Village and Doctor Sugeng from Hanging Village, which are implemented virtually everywhere.
