Commemorating National OHS Month, PT Timah Recognizes Employees and Business Partners

PANGKALPINANG – As part of the 2025 National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month celebrations, PT Timah Tbk presented awards to employees and business partners who have actively promoted a strong OHS culture in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.

These awards were given during the peak event of PT Timah’s 2025 National OHS Month, which coincided with the PJO Summit and Mining Safety Technical Guidance at Graha Timah on Wednesday (February 12, 2025).

PT Timah’s Director of Operations and Production, Nur Adi Kuncoro, personally handed out the awards to business partners and PT Timah personnel.

The awards were categorized into several groups, including Best Operational Supervisor, Best Operational Manager (PJO), Best Observation and CCV, Employee with the Best Medical Check-Up (MCU) Results, and Recognition for PT Timah's Healthy Movement Program (GESIT).

One of the award recipients, Budi Suriansyah from CV Jaya Mandiri, expressed his surprise at being selected as a finalist and winning third place in the Best Operational Manager category for 2024.

"I didn't expect to win, and I wasn’t even aware I had been included as a candidate. The assessment was conducted directly by the evaluation team," he said.

Budi also emphasized that receiving the award carries a great responsibility for him to further improve OHS management and supervision.

"Besides feeling proud, this award is also an additional responsibility that I will carry in 2025," he stated.

"It motivates me to maintain my performance and hopefully continue being the best PJO in the coming years," he added.

Furthermore, Budi hopes that this recognition will inspire other Operational Managers (PJO) to enhance OHS performance in their respective areas.

"I want this to serve as motivation for other PJOs to improve their OHS programs in their work areas," he expressed.

"Hopefully, there will be more frequent socialization and education on OHS for PJOs and PJLs in the mining environment," he added.

Meanwhile, Marpawi from the Mine Support Division, one of PT Timah’s employees who received an award, shared that this recognition encourages him to maintain his physical fitness.

He secured third place in the Healthy Movement Program (GESIT) category for recording the highest number of steps in 2024. Being an avid runner, he was excited to participate in the GESIT program.

"I love exercising and running. Since I am currently assigned to KIP 12, I make it a habit to run around the ship every morning and evening to stay fit," he said.

He also stated that this award motivates him to inspire his colleagues to adopt an active lifestyle. (*)
