Commemorating National OHS Month, PT Timah Area Belitung Holds Ceremony and Presents Awards to Operational Supervisors

BELITUNG – The excitement of the 2025 National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month continues across PT Timah’s operational areas, with various OHS-themed competitions held in different regions.

As part of the commemoration, PT Timah Area Belitung organized a National OHS Month Ceremony at the Department of Land Production Supervision Office, Tanjungpandan, Belitung Regency, on Tuesday (February 11, 2025).

The ceremony was led by PT Timah's Director of Operations and Production, Nur Adi Kuncoro, and attended by the Head of Pollution Control and Environmental Damage at the Belitung Regency Environmental Agency, Luthfie Avian, along with PT Timah’s General Manager, Division Head of the Operations and Production Directorate, PJO Business Partners of PT Timah, and all employees of the Belitung Area Division.

As the ceremony leader, Nur Adi delivered the official address from the Indonesian Minister of Manpower, emphasizing the theme "Strengthening Human Resource Capacity to Support the Implementation of the Mining Safety Management System (SMKaP) for Increased Productivity."

This year’s National OHS Month theme aligns with President Prabowo’s Asta Cita vision to create a sovereign, advanced, and prosperous Indonesia by fostering a skilled and productive workforce.

"Therefore, the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) and the development of an OHS culture must remain our collective focus and priority. Moreover, the successful implementation of SMK3 and the establishment of an excellent OHS culture require high-quality human resources who understand the importance and benefits of OHS," said Nur Adi.

During the event, the company presented awards to the Operational Supervision Team for Compliance in Completing Safety Management System Reports, to Operational Supervisors for maintaining a record of zero mining accidents resulting in fatalities or serious injuries, and to IUJP (Mining Services Business License) holders for adhering to internal SMKP (Mining Safety Management System) audit reports in the Belitung Area.

Through the commemoration of National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month, PT Timah reaffirms its commitment to implementing a strong OHS culture in its business operations. (*)
