EAST BELITUNG - In commemoration of the National K3 Month, PT Timah Tbk Belitung Production Unit is carrying out a number series of National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) activities in 2023.
Located in the Hanging Tin Ore Warehouse Yard, a National K3 Month Rally was held, giving awards to employees who cared about K3 on Tuesday (7/2/2023).
In addition to the gathering, a landslide hazard simulation was also carried out, and a competition to commemorate the national K3 month, namely first aid, poster, and safety contact contests.
This activity was also attended by representatives of Duppont, Minerba, East Belitung Manpower Office, East Belitung DLH, Basarnas, and the local village head.
The coordinator of Mine Inspector for Bangka Belitung Province, Suryono said that the implementation of the national K3 month which was carried out by PT Timah Tbk UPB was quite good because there was a direct implementation so it was not only ceremonial.
"Usually it's only morning assembly, but here it's not except the activities can be a lesson in the future in improving the implementation of K3," he said.
According to Suryono, globally the implementation of OSH at PT Timah Tbk is quite good because there are many activities to support the implementation of OSH including technical guidance (Bimtek) and others.
"I hope that the implementation of K3 can be continued, but not only in the National K3 month but forever," he hoped.
Meanwhile, Dupont Sustainable Solutions (DSS) Consultant Representative in implementing OSH culture, Irfan Permana said that the implementation of the national OSH month at PT Timah Tbk was very interesting. Because there is a lot of employee involvement and interaction in the agenda.
"So it's pretty good that the implementation of the National K3 month at PT Timah Tbk, all elements are involved," he said.
According to Irfan, the implementation of OSH at PT Timah Tbk has started to improve a lot, but it needs a continuous improvement process and requires hard work and cooperation from all parties.
"We provide materials so that in the future the implementation will be more consistent, so now we are strengthening the pillars," he explained.
Therefore, he hopes that the implementation of K3 will be carried out at any time in carrying out work at PT Timah Tbk.
"Earlier we saw that it was good, pay attention first and know the risks before starting work and make sure all controls have been carried out," he said.
