BANGKA -- PT Timah through the Engineering and Mine Support Division collaborated with PMI Bangka Regency to hold a blood donation at Balai Karya Sungailait, Bangka Regency, Wednesday (7/2/2024).
This blood donation to commemorate National K3 Month 2024 was attended by PT Timah employees and the surrounding community. Dozens of blood bags were collected in this activity.
This blood donation activity is the company's effort to support PMI Bangka Regency's activities in meeting blood availability.
Chairman of UTD PMI Bangka dr. Hery said that the blood donation activity with PT Timah could help meet the need for blood in Bangka Regency.
"The need for blood every month is at least 600-700 bags, but because the public doesn't understand about blood donation, we haven't been able to meet this need," he said.
According to him, the synergy between PT Timah and PMI KabuapBangka is running well because they often collaborate in joint blood donation activities.
"Hopefully in the future blood donation at PT Timah can be more routine in order for us to meet the community's blood needs. So we hope that PT Timah will be able to hold blood donations 2-4 times a year," he said.
One of the PT Timah employees who took part in Arfahni's blood donation activity said that he often donates blood and feels many benefits for his body's health after donating blood.
"Because there was this activity at the beginning of the year, I also donate blood, usually also donating in PT Timah's Month of Service activities. Because I feel many benefits from donating, such as physically feeling lighter and being able to control cholesterol and uric acid," he said. (*)
