KUNDUR BARAT -- In celebration of the Islamic New Year 1447 Hijri, PT Timah Tbk Kundur Area supported the Torch Parade organized by the Mosque Council (DKM) of Al Inayah Mosque at the Timah Kundur Complex, Riau Islands Province, on Thursday (June 25, 2025).
The torch parade welcoming the Islamic New Year is a regular tradition held by the Al Inayah Mosque Council and has often been supported by PT Timah. This support is part of the company's efforts to help preserve local customs, culture, and community traditions.
Sawaluddin, Chairperson of Al Inayah Mosque, expressed his appreciation for the support from PT Timah and other parties that made the Islamic New Year 1447 celebration possible.
"Especially to the management of PT Timah Tbk Kundur Area, who continue to support every activity held by the Al Inayah Mosque Council. I invite all of us to pray for PT Timah so that the company we love is granted abundant blessings," he said.
Similarly, Karunia, the Head of Dusun IV in Gemuruh Village, also conveyed his appreciation to the Al Inayah Mosque Council and PT Timah for organizing the event each year as a way to enliven the Islamic New Year celebration.
"Hopefully, activities like this can strengthen the bonds among the community and continue to be held every year," he added.
The torch parade was lively, with children participating enthusiastically. The event was attended by hundreds of people from the Timah Perayun Complex and the surrounding community.
In addition to the parade, the event also included prize giveaways for lucky participants. Prior to the parade, the Al Inayah Mosque Council held a collective prayer to mark the end of the year after Asr prayer and a New Year prayer following Maghrib prayer.
