Collaboration with the West Bangka Regency Fisheries and Maritime Service, PT Timah Develops Empek Empek Leho Business Actors

WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah is collaborating with the West Bangka Regency Fisheries and Livestock Service to develop MSMEs involved in the fisheries sector, such as fishermen and fishery product processors.

The coaching program is carried out in an integrated manner starting from supporting the improvement of fishermen's fishing gear and supporting the businesses of MSMEs involved in processing fishery products.

This time, PT Timah collaborated to provide education about fisheries and administration to the Empek Empek Leho MSME group in Belo Laut Village, Mentok, West Bangka which was held on Monday (19/8/2024).

Mentok area Fisheries Extension Officer, West Bangka district Fisheries Service Ira Triswiyana and Ayu Permata Sari who provided counseling to the administration of the Empek Empek Leho MSME Group.

Ira explained that they provide assistance to fisheries business actors, such as regarding fish cultivation, processing catches, and fishermen.

"One of them is guidance in the administrative sector. When they are going to apply for assistance, we accompany them in making the proposal," he said.

Furthermore, he said that PT Timah often helps the people of West Bangka in the fisheries sector, including fishermen. According to him, several of their coaches have received assistance from PT Timah.

"Thank God, PT Timah's role in business actors in the fisheries sector is good, especially for fishermen and processors," he said.

According to him, they have also collaborated with them to help fishermen, such as providing net fishing equipment. This member of the MIND ID Mining Industry holding also provided assistance for processing equipment and freezers for Ak Leho MSMEs.

In the future, Ira hopes that synergy can work well to support the fisheries sector in West Bangka.

"Hopefully the synergy will continue to run well, in the future we hope that cooperation can be further improved so that all of our coaches can get support from PT Timah," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Empek-Empek MSME Group, Leho Nora, admitted that during his time under PT Timah, the business group he led experienced various progress, one of which was an increase in turnover.

"Thank God, since PT Timah was built, we can really feel the progress of the business, especially in the financial sector, we are more enthusiastic about making empek empek, because there are lots of orders," he said.

According to him, this coaching and counseling can increase their insight to build more advanced and better businesses.
