EAST BELITUNG -- PT Timah Tbk once again demonstrates its commitment to education and health through its Mobile Health program. This time, the free health services target students at schools to ensure they receive early health checkups.
In collaboration with the Belitung Timur Regency Health Department, PT Timah conducted community health screenings and school-age child health checks at SMPN 1 Pesak on Tuesday (August 19, 2025).
The arrival of PT Timah Tbk's Mobile Health Service was enthusiastically received by students and teachers. Students from grades 1, 2, and 3 took turns participating in health screenings and education on healthy living habits.
The Head of the Belitung Timur Regency Health Department, Dianita Fitriani, stated that the presence of the Health Mobile Unit at the school helps bring healthcare services closer to the community.
“Such activities can improve community health quality, and we hope PT Timah can become a partner in comprehensive and sustainable healthcare services through the Bejase Beltim innovation,” she said.
According to her, PT Timah also frequently collaborates with the Health Department of East Belitung District in efforts to synergize health development programs in promotion, prevention, and care at schools and public places.
“PT Timah and the Health Office are partnering in terms of material resource support, human resources, program coordination, and other matters. We hope this synergy can continue,” he said.
Meanwhile, the principal of SMP Negeri 1 Simpang Pesak, Herman Sujono, said that the Healthy Car activity was enthusiastically welcomed by hundreds of students, especially since PT Timah provided souvenirs for the children.
According to him, this health check-up program is very beneficial for their students to detect early health issues and educate them about healthy living habits.
“The children are enthusiastic, especially since there are souvenirs from PT Timah. They also undergo health checks, and we at the school also get to know the students' health conditions. For example, if there are cases of stunting or anything else. We hope that PT Timah's Mobile Health Unit can visit our school regularly,” he said.
He added that PT Timah's collaboration and support for their school extend beyond health activities. Recently, as a member of the Indonesian Mining Industry Holding Company MIND ID, PT Timah also supported the school's Fun Run event.
“We express our appreciation for the PT Timah Health Mobile visiting our school, and previously we were also assisted in the Fun Run activity. We hope to be assisted again in future Olympic-style events. This is a form of synergy between the education sector and the business world that has a direct impact,” he said.
PT Timah's Healthy Car Program has been regularly implemented in various areas where the company operates. Its presence is always enthusiastically welcomed by schools, parents, and the surrounding community because it provides tangible benefits in improving health.
