BANGKA TENGAH -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues its efforts to strengthen Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) programs through discussions on the renewal of the Community Development and Empowerment Master Plan (RIPPM) in Central Bangka Regency.
The discussion was carried out through a Multi-Stakeholder Consultation Forum Group Discussion (FGD) for the preparation of the RIPPM, held at the VVIP Meeting Room of the Central Bangka Regent’s Office on Thursday (May 7, 2026).
The FGD involved various stakeholders, including local government representatives, district heads, village heads, academics, and community members, in order to gather aspirations regarding the community’s priority needs for the next five years.
The event was attended by representatives from the Central Bangka Regency Government, the Energy and Mineral Resources Office (ESDM) of Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Bappeda, the Environmental Agency (DLH), the Education Office, the Health Office, the Trade and Cooperative Office for SMEs, academics, facilitators from Padjadjaran University, district heads, village heads, and PT TIMAH management.
This forum serves as a strategic step to align PT TIMAH’s CSR and PPM programs so they become more targeted and deliver tangible benefits to communities in mining operational areas.
The Department Head of Corporate Communication of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the renewal of the RIPPM is an important momentum to strengthen synergy between the company, local government, and the community in designing sustainable empowerment programs aimed at improving public welfare.
The preparation of PPM programs must be carried out participatively to ensure that the implemented programs truly meet the needs of communities surrounding the company’s operational areas.
“The RIPPM is an important momentum for PT TIMAH to absorb various aspirations and perspectives from multiple stakeholders, ranging from local governments to village communities. We want the PPM programs developed to be truly targeted and provide real benefits,” said Risal.
He hopes that through the discussion forum, policy formulations that are solution-oriented and capable of supporting sustainable development in Central Bangka will emerge.
Central Bangka Regional Secretary Ahmad Syarifullah Nizam, represented by Economic and Financial Expert Staff Tamimi, expressed full support for the preparation of the RIPPM, as it is considered a strategic document for strengthening collaboration between the government and the company.
“The Central Bangka Government fully supports the preparation of this RIPPM. We are ready to work together and collaborate in order to produce a realistic document that truly benefits the community,” said Tamimi.
Meanwhile, a representative from the Bangka Belitung Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Agung Pranolo, considered the forum important for formulating the needs of communities around mining areas, ranging from education and healthcare to strengthening the local economy.
He also encouraged district heads and village heads to actively provide input so that the programs developed truly reach the intended beneficiaries.
The renewal of the RIPPM focuses on six main pillars: education, healthcare, real income, economic independence, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure.
In addition, several priority programs were also discussed, including the development of the Blue Village Program in Kurau Village, Koba, and Lubuk Besar, which focuses on fisheries cultivation development.
Through this RIPPM renewal, PT TIMAH and the Central Bangka Regency Government hope that future community empowerment programs will become more focused, sustainable, and capable of addressing the real needs of communities in mining areas.
Previously, discussions on the RIPPM renewal had also been conducted in South Bangka Regency, Bangka Regency, and West Bangka Regency to gather aspirations that will later be formulated into the company’s RIPPM document. (*)
