PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) while supporting improvements in the quality of education. Through a collaboration with its fostered partner O’Bross Collection and the Pangkalpinang City Government, PT TIMAH Tbk held a training program titled “Beading Together with O’Bross” for elementary and junior high school teachers in Pangkalpinang City at the Pangkalpinang Dekranasda Building, Monday–Tuesday (January 12–13, 2026).
The training, which was attended by dozens of teachers, served as a tangible example of synergy between the business sector, MSMEs, and the education sector. This activity not only enhanced teachers’ skills but also encouraged MSMEs to directly contribute benefits to the community.
Head of the Personnel Development Division of the Pangkalpinang City Office of Education and Culture, Novian Yuspandi, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration. According to him, the activity aligns with efforts to improve teacher competency through creative and practical approaches.
“This training provides additional skills for teachers that can be applied in classroom learning. Creativity like this is greatly needed to support a more engaging and meaningful educational process for students,” he said.
He added that teachers are expected to apply the materials they have learned and implement them with their students.
Meanwhile, Head of the Industry Division of the Pangkalpinang City Office of Cooperatives, MSMEs, and Trade, Linda, described the collaboration as a strategic step amid limited government budgets.
“Not all segments can be covered by the government. In this era of budget efficiency, collaboration must be built by all parties. MSMEs as the actors, companies such as PT TIMAH Tbk through CSR programs, and related government agencies can strengthen one another,” she said.
She added that this activity serves as an example of how MSMEs are not only economically empowered, but also encouraged to contribute to society through the skills they possess.

Owner of O’Bross Collection, Fany Pratiwi, said the training was her first experience collaborating directly with the Education Office and school teachers. According to her, the activity opens significant opportunities for the development of creativity-based education.
“The hope is that this collaborative workshop between MSME players, the business sector, and education can improve the quality of education while empowering the community. Teachers can apply it to students on an ongoing basis, so it can become an entrepreneurial opportunity from an early age,” Fany explained.
Fany also emphasized that the entire training program was conducted free of charge with full support from PT TIMAH Tbk.
“Everything is supported by PT TIMAH Tbk. Participants were not charged any fees. We are focused on sharing skills and experience,” she added.
The beading training focused on creating sun-motif bracelets using simple techniques while maintaining aesthetic value. The products introduced also incorporated ethnic elements while keeping up with trends, without losing their cultural identity.

One of the participants, Alisa, a teacher at SMP Negeri 3 Pangkalpinang, expressed her enthusiasm for the activity. She felt the training provided new insights into the development of craft subjects in schools.
“When there are activities like this, it’s definitely great because it adds to our knowledge. So far, craft lessons have been limited, even though they can actually be developed and even become opportunities to promote creative products. We also learned that materials around us can be used for handicrafts,” she said.
Through this activity, PT TIMAH Tbk reaffirmed its role not only as a supporter of MSMEs through funding and promotion, but also as a driver of collaboration that delivers tangible benefits for education and the wider community. (*)
