Collaboration Between PT Timah and GP Ansor: Providing Mobile Health Services and Food Packages for Coastal Communities

BANGKA – To improve community health, PT Timah Tbk has partnered with the Regional Leadership of Gerakan Pemuda Ansor (GP Ansor) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province to provide free healthcare services through the Mobile Health Unit for coastal communities.

Together, PT Timah and GP Ansor Babel organized a free medical service and food distribution program for residents in the coastal area of Bangka Regency, specifically at Al-Inayah Mosque, Nelayan 2, Sungailiat District, on Thursday (February 13, 2025).

The Chairman of GP Ansor Bangka Belitung, Irwandi Pasha, accompanied by the secretary and the Chairman of GP Ansor Pangkalpinang, emphasized that this collaboration is a form of gratitude for the blessing of tin resources in Bangka Belitung.

"This assistance is one way to express our gratitude for the privilege of being blessed with tin resources in Bangka Belitung, ensuring that all community members can share in its benefits," he explained.

Irwandi also noted that this initiative serves as economic support for the Nelayan 2 community, especially during extreme weather conditions affecting local fishermen.

"Given the current extreme weather in Bangka Belitung, the Nelayan 2 community, God willing, will greatly benefit from this collaboration," he added. We hope that GP Ansor and PT Timah can continue working hand in hand to support communities, not only in Nelayan 2 but in other areas as well."

Also present at the event, Sudarman, Deputy Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Leadership in Bangka Regency, expressed appreciation for PT Timah's openness to collaboration.

"This is our first collaboration and Alhamdulillah, PT Timah has been very receptive to initiatives like this," he stated.

The residents of Nelayan 2 eagerly gathered at the event site in the early morning, and a total of 283 food packages were successfully distributed.

One of the beneficiaries, Rahma (50), expressed her joy at the return of the Mobile Health Unit to her neighborhood.

"Alhamdulillah, I’m so happy and grateful for this program. The event was as great as before. The doctor even reminded me not to eat too many nuts," she shared with a smile.

"I wish PT Timah continued success so they can keep supporting the community," she added. (*)
