WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk, in collaboration with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, is working to improve the skills of childcare providers at daycare centers through the Taman Asuh Sayang Anak (TAMASYA) Program.
Two daycare centers in West Bangka Regency, TPA Bunayya and TPA Ulul Mauza, were selected as mentoring locations for this program. The socialization event was held at the Sriwijaya Hall of PT Timah Tbk in Mentok on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Speakers at the event included Dr. Novianti, Head of the Family Resilience and Stunting Prevention Working Team of the Bangka Belitung BKKBN; Sarbudiyono, Head of the West Bangka P2KBP3A Office; pediatrician Dr. Isna Pancabayu, Sp.A; and nutritionist Nurlitta from Mentok Community Health Center.
Dr. Novianti explained that the TAMASYA Program is an integrated childcare service that provides four main areas of support: guidance for childcare providers, monitoring of child growth and development, parent education, and facilitation of health and nutrition referrals.
“To this day, PT Timah Tbk is the only company in Bangka Belitung supporting the TAMASYA Program. This is an important step in promoting child development while supporting working parents’ productivity,” she said.
Sarbudiyono, Head of the West Bangka P2KBP3A Office, expressed his appreciation to PT Timah Tbk and BKKBN for their efforts to improve the quality of childcare at daycare centers.
“For now, only daycare centers in West Bangka are receiving this mentoring. This activity is very beneficial in strengthening the capacity of childcare providers and daycare managers to implement better caregiving and educational practices,” he said.
He hopes the program can be expanded so more daycare centers in West Bangka can benefit and help support children’s development.
“We extend our gratitude to PT Timah Tbk. Moving forward, we hope not only these two daycare centers, but also others can receive similar assistance,” he added.
Marlinda, manager of TPA Bunayya, said they care for 23 children and that the mentoring has been very helpful for them.
“We are ready to apply the knowledge shared to support the children’s growth and development. Thank you to PT Timah Tbk and BKKBN for their support,” she said.
Similarly, Supriyatin, Head of TPA Ulul Mauza, which cares for 30 children with four caregivers, expressed her gratitude.
“We are truly grateful for this guidance. We hope this program continues and brings meaningful benefits to the children,” she said.
