BANGKA TENGAH – PT Timah collaborates with various parties to promote environmental conservation in its operational areas, including with the Bangka Belitung Regional Police (Polda Babel).
As part of the 'Serumpun Sebalai Earth Resilience' program initiated by Polda Babel, PT Timah participated in mangrove and sea pine tree planting activities at Menuang Beach, Baskara Bakti Village, Central Bangka, on Friday (15/11/2024).
PT Timah's Director of Operations and Production, Nur Adi Kuncoro, attended the event alongside Polda Babel's Chief, Inspector General Hendro Pandowo, to plant mangroves and sea pines.
On this occasion, Nur Adi Kuncoro handed over 1,000 sea pine seedlings, while the Head of BP DAS Baturusa Cerucuk, Muchtar Efendi, contributed 2,000 mangrove seedlings.
In addition to donating sea pine seedlings, PT Timah also deployed fire trucks to water the planted seedlings.
The mangrove planting is an effort to prevent coastal erosion and maintain coastal ecosystems. This tree-planting initiative continues to be encouraged to achieve the target of planting one million trees.
"Synergy is essential to achieving the target of planting one million trees in Bangka Belitung. Today's planting is a continuation of the program to plant 218,000 trees across 306 hectares," said Polda Babel Chief Inspector General Hendro Pandowo.
Meanwhile, PT Timah's Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainable environmental management, both through collaboration with various parties and internal initiatives.
"The company is committed to implementing environmental management. These activities can be carried out collaboratively, like today's event with Polda Babel," she stated.
