The Torch Parade of 3,000 culok was released by West Bangka Deputy Regent Bong Ming Ming starting from the Ar Rahman Daya Baru Mosque around the Daya Baru Hamlet of Pal4 Muntok, West Bangka, Saturday (18/3/2023) evening.
Priffi Roy, Chair of the Torch Committee and Youth Association of the Daya Baru Mosque, said that this activity aimed to maintain sustainable traditions in Sejiran Setason.
"The goal is to keep adat in West Bangka sustainable, especially in the Daya Baru hamlet. This activity did not run smoothly without the support of all parties, making this activity a success. The Daya Baru hamlet community would like to thank PT Timah and other donors and IRMADA who have prepared everything for events," he said.
Deputy Regent of West Bangka, Bong Ming Ming, said this activity welcomed the Holy Month of Ramadan and became a gathering event.
"To this day the youth of Daya Baru Hamlet has always maintained this tradition, so the West Bangka Regional Government needs to support this activity, apart from being a vehicle for culture and tourism, as well as being a symbol of Islam," said Bong Ming Ming. (**)
