KUNDUR -- PT TIMAH Tbk continues to play an active role in supporting government programs aimed at realizing Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045. One concrete step taken by PT TIMAH Tbk through the Kundur Area Division is organizing a Seminar on the Indonesian Model Father Movement (GATI), a national program initiated by the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) to encourage active father involvement in child-rearing.
In collaboration with the Riau Islands Provincial BKKBN and the Karimun Regency Government, the seminar aims to strengthen the family’s role as the foundation for shaping children’s character. The event was held at Griya Timah Kundur on Wednesday (December 10, 2025).
The Indonesian Model Father Movement is a national effort to address the phenomenon of fatherlessness or the lack of a father figure in parenting. The program encourages fathers to be actively involved in childcare, protection, and the education of their children to build strong families and foster positive character development.
The Chairwoman of the Karimun Regency Family Welfare Empowerment (TP PKK), Hj. Siti Rojiah, expressed appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s support in organizing the event.
“On behalf of the Karimun Regency Government, I would like to thank PT TIMAH Tbk for its support. This program is highly strategic in preparing the 2045 Golden Generation, starting from the family, especially through the active role of fathers in accompanying their children’s growth and development,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Riau Islands Provincial BKKBN, Rohina, emphasized the importance of father involvement amid rapid technological advancement. She noted that many children are exposed to gadgets and social media without adequate supervision.
“If we do not respond wisely to the development of gadgets, children can become victims. Cases of bullying, social media pressure, and emotional trauma are becoming more common. Therefore, the presence of fathers as companions, listeners, and guides is crucial,” she explained.
Rohina hopes that the seminar will encourage fathers to be present not only as providers but also as friends and protectors for their children.
The seminar speaker, who is also the Chairwoman of the Riau Islands Province Psychologists Association, Devi Maya Sari, described various risks faced by children in the digital era. According to her, children’s growth and development today are influenced by many external factors, including a digital environment that is often unsafe.
“If families are not present to accompany them, the world will educate children through gadgets, unlimited information access, online predators, and cyberbullying. That is why fathers must be more attentive and caring toward their children’s development,” she stressed.
She hopes the participants can become fathers who build strong character, mental health, and resilience in their children so they are not easily swayed by negative influences.
Through the GATI seminar, PT TIMAH Tbk’s Kundur Area Division reinforces its commitment to supporting the development of high-quality Indonesian human resources as part of the company’s contribution to realizing the 2045 Golden Generation.
