BANGKA – PT Timah collaborated with the Depati Bahrin Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Sungailiat to carry out blood donation as part of the Month of Service activities to welcome PT Timah's 48th anniversary.
This blood donation activity was carried out at the Engineering & Mine Support Division Office of PT Timah Tbk, Sungailiat, Bangka Regency on Thursday (27/06/2024).
In this blood donation activity, 44 bags of blood were collected which will later be used for patients or people in need.
The Head of Services at Depati Bahrin Sungailiat Regional Hospital, Grace Wira Hutabarat, was very grateful to be involved in this activity.
"We are very enthusiastic about accepting this offer of collaboration with PT Timah, because the need for blood at our UTD Hospital is greatly increasing, especially as patient visits to our place have greatly increased," he said.
Grace hopes that collaboration like this can continue and provide benefits to people in need.
"We hope that the blood obtained in this activity will be useful for the patients at our hospital," he said.
He assessed that the enthusiasm of the public and employees who wanted to donate blood was quite good, even though their expected target of 100 bags had not been achieved.
"For our own enthusiasm, we see that this afternoon more and more patients are coming to donate blood, and we hope that in the future we can continue to collaborate with PT Timah, if possible, not only in the Month of Service activities, but also in other activities, he hoped.
"Happy birthday PT Timah, I hope it will be more prosperous in Bangka Belitung Province, especially for Bangka Regency, and can continue to support the lives of the people of Bangka Belitung," he said.
Meanwhile, Lina Santia, one of the blood donor participants, said that she had not been actively donating blood for a long time.
"I used to regularly participate in blood donations, but in recent years I have been donating quite rarely, the last time was in 2021. I found out about this blood donation activity from my friends' WA status and I was interested in donating blood, maybe because of my health, because every time I "After the donation, my body felt lighter than without the donor," said Lina.
Lina also hopes that PT Timah Tbk can continue to provide benefits to the people of Bangka Belitung.
"Hopefully PT Timah can continue to develop, and provide benefits to society, because wherever we are it must provide benefits, especially in the same class as PT Timah which is well known everywhere, hopefully, its benefits will be even more global," he said. (*)
