Collaborating with AIMI Babel, PT Timah Holds Stunting Management Education in Paku Village

SOUTH BANGKA -- PT Timah's Stunting Reducing (Kemunting) Activity Program is present in Paku Village, Payung District, South Bangka Regency to provide education about handling stunting for the community.

The Kemunting Program Health Socialization was held at the Paku Village Sports Hall on Tuesday (25/7/2024). This activity was attended by pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and the community.

In outreach regarding the handling and prevention of stunting, PT Timah collaborated with the Bangka Belitung Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (AIMI) to provide education about the prevention and handling of stunting, parenting patterns, and fulfilling children's nutrition based on local food ingredients.

On this occasion, PT Timah also handed over additional food packages for children experiencing stunting. Apart from that, a discussion was also held about parenting methods.

Paku Village Community Empowerment (KPM) cadre, Mardiah Ica, said that this activity was very good for broadening the insight of parents in Paku Village in fulfilling children's nutrition.

"The participants are pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and parents of toddlers. With an education like this, hopefully, they will understand better so that together they can prevent stunting," he said.

He hopes that health education like this can continue with different topics, for example for teenagers so that more people will understand.

"Usually parents, if their children don't want to eat, just leave them alone, they were told several things about the importance of nutrition for children. Hopefully, this activity can continue to be carried out," he hoped.

Likewise, the Head of Paku Village, Palmuri, said that education regarding stunting management was in line with the South Bangka Regency Government Program and the Paku Village Government.

"This program is very good and in line with the government's program to deal with stunting, we are working together to help each other so we can solve this stunting problem," he said. (*)
