WEST BANGKA -- Supporting the preservation of community customs in Pusuk Village, Kelapa District, West Bangka Regency, PT Timah Tbk handed over assistance for the Ruahan Khatam Koran Traditional Festival.
This assistance was handed over to the Chair of the Khatam Koran Ruahan Traditional Party Committee, Sahani, Wednesday (1/3/2023). This mass traditional party will be held on March 5.
Sahani said this tradition was an annual routine agenda carried out in their village. Activities carried out such as a procession for children who have completed the Koran, followed by a Berenggung event or village alms.
"This is a hereditary tradition that is carried out in the village. Later it will begin with a procession around the village, then khataman, and continue with village bequests or alms," he said.
Meanwhile, community leaders from Pusuk Maryono Village appreciated the support from PT Timah Tbk which has assisted in the preservation of indigenous traditions in Pusuk Village.
"Thank you to PT Timah for its contribution to the Ruahan event in Pusuk village. This assistance is very useful for our village. Hopefully, PT Timah can play an active role in the Pusuk village community. From a CSR perspective, it is hoped that there will be no mining. illegal mining," he said.
The chairman of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) Pusuk Atman said, PT Timah often helps the people in their village through its CSR.
"In addition to village traditional assistance, PT Timah provided a lot of assistance, such as assistance for sacrificial cows, healthy car activities, assistance for livable houses, assistance for engines and boats for fishermen. Thank God, PT Timah is quite concerned about Pusuk Village," he explained. (**)
