BANGKA -- In order to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Timah Pemali Boarding School Program students held a coloring competition which was held at the Pemali Boarding School Dormitory on Sunday 18 August 2024.
A total of 30 children took part in a coloring competition with the theme Celebrating the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. The children who took part in the competition were local residents at the PT Timah Pemali Boarding School student dormitory location in Pemali, Bangka Regency.
Dozens of children seemed enthusiastic about taking part in the coloring competition, accompanied by their parents. This coloring competition is also an effort to foster a spirit of nationalism from an early age.
The Chief Executive of the activity, who is a Pemali Boarding School student, Refky Darmawan, said that this activity aims to hone children's creativity and increase the harmonization of students with the Pemali Village community.
"We have only carried out this activity this year, hopefully in the future we can make more contributions to the community, especially Pemali Village, where we have lived for three years," he said.
They also appreciated the enthusiasm of the residents who took part in this independence coloring competition. This makes them feel comfortable in the Pemali Village environment even though they live far from their parents.
The Pemali Boarding School program is one of PT Timah's educational scholarship programs for outstanding students who come from low-income families.
The students who are members of this program come from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Riau Province and Riau Islands Province whose learning program is carried out at SMAN 1 Pemali. (*)
