PANGKALPINANG -- The struggle of the Indonesian U-23 National Team (Timnas) in the 2024 ASEAN Football Confederation (AFC) Cup continues, even though last night's semifinal match was defeated by Uzbekistan with a score of 2-0.
Support and appreciation for the U-23 Indonesian National Team spread throughout the country, including PT Timah which provided support to the U-23 Indonesian National Team by holding a group viewing at Graha Timah, on Monday (29/4/2024) evening.
With simplicity and a friendly atmosphere, this group viewing was also attended by the President Director of PT Timah Ahmad Dani Virsal along with hundreds of Timah employees to provide support for Garuda Muda.
The achievement of the U-23 Indonesian National Team in being able to qualify for the semifinals cannot be separated from the role of Shin Tae Yong and PSSI, led by Erick Thohir.
The President Director of PT Timah, Ahmad Dani Virsal, appreciated the hard work of PSSI and the U-23 National Team which was able to bring about change and improve the achievements of the Indonesian National Team until they entered the top four of the U-23 Asian Cup tournament.
"Thank you to PSSI and the U-23 National Team who have worked hard to make history for all of us, we managed to get past such strong teams. Previously we beat South Korea, success and failure came and went," said Dani.
"However, continuing to move forward is not easy. The most important thing is to always have fighting power and optimism," he continued.
In this match, Dani said that all Indonesian people were united in the spirit of unity to support the U-23 Indonesian National Team.
"Tonight we watched the U-23 match, where the nation and state merged with the spirit of unity, we both faced the same enemy. Football and these young people give us an understanding that to be strong and tough always requires strong synergy," said Dani.
Apart from holding a joint Nobar, Dani Virsal also appreciated Timah people who had also succeeded in making achievements as overall champions in the MIND ID Explorathon event in the context of MIND ID's 1st anniversary.
"Alhamdulillah, this is a source of pride for all of us. Today we are gathered, grateful for the achievements of the PT Timah Baporseni team in the MIND ID Explorathon event," he said.
As is known, PT Timah won ten medals in the MIND ID Expolorathon event, namely six gold and four silver in various sports, intelligence, and arts branches.
"Thank you to all the contingents who have fought, brought the company's good name, and supported and sacrificed their time and energy, so that we could achieve achievements. Of course, everything is not easy, everything requires fighting power and quick and correct decisions," he concluded. (*)
