KUNDUR -- PT Timah's Month of Service series to welcome PT Timah's 48th anniversary was held at the Kundur Wilasi Office, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province, Monday (1/7/2024). The series of activities carried out were blood donation.
PT Timah collaborated with PMI Karimun Regency to collect 68 bags of blood during PT Timah's 48th Anniversary Month of Service activities. Employees' enthusiasm for donating blood is quite high.
Previously, a series of PT Timah Month of Service activities were carried out including free health checks and mass circumcisions.
PMI Karimun Regency Blood Transfusion Technician Mardian appreciated the blood donation activity initiated by PT Timah because it could increase blood supply.
"Thank you PT Timah for carrying out blood donation activities to meet the need for blood in Karimun Regency and the enthusiasm is quite high," he said.
According to him, having blood donation activities like this can help donors who want to donate blood but are hampered by distance.
"With this blood donation, it will at least help employees at PT Timah to donate blood if they want to go to PMI far away, especially between islands. Maybe there are time and distance limitations. This way it can make it easier for those in the Perayun area to change," he said .
He said, in one month PMI needs around 400-500 bags of blood. So that activities like this can help replenish the blood supply.
"We hope that this activity will be carried out regularly, for example three times a year so that it can facilitate those who wish to donate. Thank you PT Timah for carrying out this activity," he said.
One of the blood donor participants, Herizon, said that Kundur area employees were enthusiastic about participating in this blood donation.
"Employee enthusiasm was very good in carrying out blood donations, dozens of blood bags were collected. Hopefully PT Timah can continue to provide benefits to the community," he said.
Likewise, Mariani, an employee of PT Timah, said that she regularly participates in blood donation activities carried out by PT Timah. Apart from being able to help other people, donating blood also provides health benefits for the body.
"Apart from helping others, blood donation also has many health benefits. Hopefully in the future this will be done routinely, PT Timah will be even more successful and produce more so that it can continue to hold the Month of Service," he hoped.
Likewise, Eko Yurifaroza said that this blood donation activity is one of the activities that employees are waiting for so they can donate blood and help others. (*)
