WEST BANGKA -- Still celebrating the 48th anniversary of PT Timah and welcoming the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Timah held a friendly league 'Fun Football Veteran U-40 2024 which was held at the Bina Jaya football field, Mentok, West Bangka, Thursday ( 8/8/2024) afternoon.
The friendly league was attended by five teams from teams located around the company's operational areas, namely Old Star Belo Laut, Veteran Air Limau, Kemang Masam Football Club, Veteran Muntok FC, and PT Timah represented by the Metallurgical Club Team (TMC).
Head of the Processing and Smelting Division of PT Timah Sofian Simangunsong opened the friendly match directly. On this occasion, he advised to uphold sportsmanship.
Old Star Belo Laut Team Captain Febri Harto expressed his appreciation to PT Timah for embracing the community with sporting competitions.
"Even though this is only a friendly match for those aged 40, we are very happy that PT Timah is holding this football league. The football match is proof that PT Timah is close to the community," he said.
Febri hopes that in the future the 2024 Veteran U-40 Fun Football League will be even more lively, and there will be additional participants.
"Hopefully this Football Match League will be maintained and will be more lively, with more participants. So there will be more spectators, it will be even busier," he hoped.
Meanwhile, the Regent of West Bangka, Sukirman, appreciated the "Fun Football Veteran U-40 2024" League activities carried out by PT Timah because it could provide entertainment for the community.
"We appreciate that PT Timah has held this football league match. The area feels alive, when there are activities and community activities because there is entertainment to watch. We hope that PT Timah can also hold activities in other fields, such as art activities, MSME bazaars and others," he hoped. (*)
