PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk joined the decorated vehicle parade held to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on Saturday (August 29, 2026).
As part of the event, PT TIMAH presented decorated vehicles featuring miniature replicas of the Timah Garuda Production Dredger (Kapal Isap Produksi/KIP) and Timah Garuda tugboat, which attracted the attention of residents along the parade route.
The decorated vehicles not only added to the festive atmosphere of the 81st Independence Day celebration but also conveyed the company’s identity as one of the players in Indonesia’s national tin mining industry, with operational activities in offshore areas.
The two vehicles were decorated to resemble a KIP and tugboat, complete with various details depicting offshore tin mining operations. Red-and-white ornaments further enhanced the patriotic atmosphere while making the vehicles more attractive as they passed by the public.
The decorated vehicles were created intensively by PT TIMAH’s Engineering & Operation Excellence team. It took approximately three to five days to complete each ship replica.
The replicas were designed to closely resemble the actual vessels, from the main hull structure and supporting equipment used in mining activities to the Independence Day ornaments. The concept was chosen to introduce the role of KIPs and tugboats as important components supporting the company’s operations.
Head of the Corporate Communications Department at PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, said the company’s participation in the decorated vehicle parade was a form of participation in celebrating the Independence Day momentum while showcasing the company’s identity through creativity.
“Through these decorated vehicles, the Company aims to bring the spirit of independence while introducing an important part of PT TIMAH’s operations, namely Production Dredgers and their supporting facilities. They represent not only technology but also the hard work, innovation, and dedication of Timah employees in fulfilling their responsibility to the nation and country,” Anggi said.
The Timah Garuda Production Dredger is one of the facilities supporting tin mining operations, particularly in offshore areas. Its operation is supported by technology and competent human resources, while prioritizing safety and sustainability.
Supporting the operations of the Timah Garuda Production Dredger is the Timah Garuda tugboat. The presence of both vessels in the decorated vehicle parade illustrates the interconnectedness of various elements in supporting the smooth operation of the company’s activities.
The philosophy conveyed through the decorated vehicles goes beyond simply showcasing the appearance of mining vessels. The Timah Garuda Production Dredger symbolizes hard work, innovation, and dedication in managing Indonesia’s natural resources sustainably.
Amid the challenges facing the mining industry, every voyage and activity carried out by the KIP carries the spirit of continuously making the best contribution to the company, society, and the country. The KIP is not merely a mining vessel, but also a symbol of hard work, innovation, and dedication.
The presence of PT TIMAH’s decorated vehicles received an enthusiastic response from the public. Residents gathered along the parade route and appeared captivated as the miniature KIP and tugboat passed by adorned with red-and-white ornaments.
